How Many People Will Watch Super Bowl 2023?

The most awaited sporting event of the year is almost here. The Super Bowl LVII is all set to take place on Sunday, February 12, and will see Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles fighting it out to be the ultimate champion.

Every year, the football extravaganza attracts a huge number of spectators, both in the stadium and on television, and this year’s edition will be no different. So how many will be watching the Super Bowl 2023? Read on to find out.

How Many People Will Watch Super Bowl 2023?

As per estimates, more than 100 million television viewers in the US are expected to tune into the game on Sunday. Last year, the event saw a viewership of 99.18 million, which will surely be surpassed this year.

Meanwhile, the Half-Time show attracts even more eyes than the game itself. In 2020, the show headlined by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar was watched by 103.4 million people. The numbers are expected to reach more than 110 million in 2023.

Previously, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s set during the mid-game concert in 2020 garnered 103 million viewers, as compared to 99.8 million viewers who watched the game. It also became the most streamed performance on YouTube, with 221 million views.

The highest viewership ever attained in a Super Bowl game was in 2018 when Katy Perry received a massive viewership of 118.5 million. This year, Rihanna is scheduled to set the stage on fire with her headlining performance, and she might be able to break Perry’s viewership record.

How Many Spectators will Watch the Game in the Stadium?

The Super Bowl LVII will be a packed event at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with 72,000 people in attendance as the audience. This will be the first time in three years that the event is being held without Covid restrictions.

Before the pandemic hit in 2020, the game hosted 62,417 fans at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. In 2021, only 25000 people were allowed at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, due to social distancing protocols, making it the least-attended edition.

Last year, the audience returned to full capacity with 70 thousand fans at the SoFi Stadium in California. However, the crowd was asked to produce their vaccination proof or negative test status to attend the game. They were also mandated to wear masks when not eating or drinking.
