Rapper BTB Savage has been shot dead in Houston. The artist, who was in his 20s, was gunned down near the River Oaks neighborhood on Thursday, March 30. The incident took place joust hours after BTB had posted a photo on social media mocking a dead enemy.
The Cleveland native was known for his songs Real Fraud, Saved By The ATM, How You Wanna Play It, and Exotic Rental Fraud. He recently also made news after revealing that he killed a man in self-defense.
Rapper BTB Savage Shot Dead in Houston
The rapper was shot multiple times around 6:10 p.m. in the 2100 block of Mid Lane. He was driving a white Mercedes when the assailants started firing on his car from their black Subaru. The suspects fled the scene after firing multiple shots.
Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner has said that they found a man in his 20s dead in the Mercedes, who was later confirmed to be BTB Savage. The police are now investigating the case, while the suspects still remain at large. Law enforcement agencies have called the shooting ‘a targeted murder’.

A disturbing clip from the scene is now doing rounds on social media. It shows a dead man lying on the floor beside a white Mercedes with several bullet holes. Some officers can also be seen in the video, along with a police car.
The Rapper Mocked the Death of his Enemy Hours Before His Murder
Just a few hours before the news of his murder came out, BTB Savage had posted a series of photos on Twitter showing a kitchenette smeared in blood. He also showed off his watch and arm cast in the pictures and captioned the post, “TOO MUCH MOTION,” in reference to his recent music video.
Savage wanted to be a rapper ever since he was a child. He later got enlisted in the military owing to a financial crunch. In 2021, he dropped his first track, Marilyn Manson, featuring Veeze and produced by DUVIN x chino. Since then, he had released several more songs, including Scam Party, Break The Bank, and MoneyBlood.
BTB Savage Made Headlines for Killing a Man in Alleged Self-Defense
In a recent interview with VladTV, BTB Savage talked about how he killed a man who tried to rob his San Antonio home. He said, “His uncle, he pulled out some bread and was like, Oh we ain’t on that…you don’t gotta lock the doors or nothing like that. I’m a grown man. While he talking, he asking about my chain, like, ‘What jeweler you go to?’ Blah blah blah.”
“And I told him, ‘Yeah, I dropped a bag on this one.’ And then right as I’m talking, I go down to look at my piece while he talking…that’s when he upped and pulled on me and he was like, ‘Run that,’” he added. Savage then explained that he could eventually wrestle with the robber and take the gun out of his hands while his girlfriend fired shots and killed him.
