According to a bombshell exposé published by the Los Angeles Times, the “Lone Survivor” producer Randall Emmett has been accused of having a history of offering actress work in exchange for sex. He is also accused of sexual misconduct and mistreatment. Randall, on the other hand, has denied all allegations and blamed it on his ex-fiancée, “Vanderpump Rules” star Lala Kent, and her alleged “smear campaign.”
The Scandalous Past of Emmett
Filmmaker Randall Emmett is surrounded by scandal following a bombshell report published by the Los Angeles Times on Thursday (June 30) wherein the 51-year-old Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films co-founder is accused of offering actresses work in exchange for sex. The allegations also stem from an incident which occurred in 2012.
The “LA Times” claims it published the piece based on “hundreds of court filings, internal company records and interviews with dozens of former associates who corroborated that Emmett”, 51, faces a mountain of debt, lawsuits and abuse allegations.”
In one of the two instances, one woman, represented by powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred, claimed in a letter obtained by the newspaper that Emmett once told her when she was just 23 “that to receive acting work from [him], she would have to perform sexual favours.”
The aspiring actress chose to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. It so happened that the woman once inquired via text whether she had gotten the role she auditioned for, to which Emmett replied, “Yes. one day of work and u need to f—kme [sic] hun.”
The young woman landed minor roles in two of his films but in return, she had to give Emmett massages, and oral sex and allowed him to “digitally penetrate” her in addition to standing naked in front of him as he masturbated in his office. In her defense, the anonymous actress stated that she complied with his requests because she was “seeking to further her career” and did not want to anger an “important producer in the industry”.
Emmett’s spokeswoman confirmed he received the letter but said he “denies” the “allegation from 2012.” The LA Times further reported that the producer reached a settlement agreement on Jan. 2 with Allred’s client for $200,000 to be paid over two years, to which Hofmeister reiterates, “Randall staunchly denies the allegations dating back to 2012.
In another instance, a woman claims that the “Irishman” producer direct-messaged on Instagram and sent her “unsolicited” messages in early 2022. The 30-year-old, filed a declaration wherein she claimed that he asked her to “f—k on the dl,” meaning “down low,” and to “do heroin and meth,” according to the report.
“I was shocked, concerned and afraid because Randall is a stranger to me,” the woman wrote in the court document obtained by the publication. “His persistence despite my never responding to a single message from him is frightening,” she added. In his defense, Randall stated, “Needless to say the judge gave this no credence.” In addition, he also provided the Times with unimpeachable proof that he had tested negative for drugs during this period and continues to be drug-free.
The aforementioned allegations arose in his custody proceedings with Lala Kent, who could provide no forensic proof that these texts were not spoofed using one of many apps. A third woman, who chose to remain anonymous, shared with the publication her own uncomfortable experience with Emmett.
A third woman, who also chose to remain anonymous, shared with the LA Times her own uncomfortable experience with Emmett. In 2014, the famed producer approached her in his Rolls-Royce as she was leaving a bar and allegedly said, “I’m not a creep, I promise. I’m a movie producer, you can Google me — please Google me.”
The publication claims that Emmett used to pay these women to sign nondisclosure agreements to keep their alleged intimate relationships secret, the report alleged, which he also denied. Emmett reportedly once offered a Florida model, with whom he allegedly was having an affair, $20,000 to keep her quiet about their dalliances.
Aside from the aforementioned claims of toxic behaviour toward women, Emmett allegedly created a hostile work environment that has caused a “lingering emotional toll” on former employees. The publication claims that this continued for over a decade.
Emmett Denies Allegations In-Toto
Randall Emmett has denied all these allegations and has stated via his spokeswoman, Sallie Hofmeister, “This stems from one allegation dating back from 2012 that Randall denies.” The famed movie produced blames his ex-fiancée, “Vanderpump Rules” star Lala Kent, and her alleged “smear campaign” for targeting him. He stated:
“These allegations are false and part of a now-familiar smear campaign orchestrated by Randall’s ex-fiancée to sway their custody dispute. Lala Kent has lied and manipulated others in her desperate attempt to win full custody of her daughter, keep her name in the press and remain relevant in reality television.”
Kent was engaged to Emmett from 2018 to 2021 and shares a one-year-old daughter with him. The two have been in a dirty custody fight wherein such allegations were highlighted from Kent’s side. She also claimed that she was offered $14,000 at the start of their relationship — while he was still married to actress Ambyr Childers — but she declined.
Emmett’s spokesperson, Hofmeister, says in response that Emmett’s discussions with Kent had to do with her being on a reality show, adding that, “Randall did not want their relationship discussed on ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ but after four years of resistance, finally agreed to appear because the producers had threatened to cut Lala’s contract if he did not.”
