Australian model and Miss Universe finalist, Sienna Weir, has tragically passed away at the age of 23. The model had been on life support in a hospital for a few weeks after suffering injuries in a horse-riding accident and was declared dead on May 4th.

Miss Universe Finalist Sienna Weir Dies at 23
Weir had an accident while riding a horse at Windsor Polo Grounds in Australia on April 2nd. The horse took a tumble and the model fell down suffering major injuries. She was taken to Westmead Hospital and was put on life-support. After battling for her life for several weeks, Weir passed away on May 4th.
The pageant queen had previously talked about her passion for horse riding in an interview last year: “Although I’ve lived most of my life in the city, I have a deep and unmoving love for show jumping. My family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from.”
“But I’ve been horseriding since I was 3 years old and can’t imagine my life without it. I travel to rural Sydney 2-3 times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend,” she said at the time.
Tributes Pour In for the Model
Photographer Chris Dwyer mourned Weir’s death and wrote, “You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up a room and the world is a lot darker now you’re gone. Hope wherever you are, you’re being the gremlin we all know and love. Miss you so much already.”
The model’s rep agency, Scoop Management, paid tribute to her with a video. “Forever in our hearts,” read the caption. “Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel today. I’ll miss everything about you, I love you,” wrote a friend. Weir’s heartbroken boyfriend Tom Bull added, “We loved with a love that was more than love.”
“Real life angel, you are forever missed and in our hearts 🤍🕊️,” wrote model Sofía Reynal. “Taken from the world far too soon! RIP Sienna,” commented a fan. “Sienna Weir just had such a beautiful light. R.I.P. God bless,” wrote another.
Weir was One of the Finalists in the 2022 Australian Miss Universe
Weir shot to fame by contesting in Miss Universe Australia last year. When asked onstage what were the essential qualities to be crowned the title, she said, “I would have to say being open to opportunities, sociability, dedication, being multi-faceted as an individual, and having integrity.”
“I believe that while it is so important to stand by what you believe in and what you love, you never know what opportunity is just around the corner, and it is vital to push yourself to try new things and to fully know yourself. If I hadn’t done so, I wouldn’t be here!” Weir added.
The model also had a double degree in English literature. Before her accident, she was planning to shift to the UK to look for more work opportunities and to spend more time with her family.
