Elon Musk Gets Booed by Audience at Dave Chappelle Comedy Show

Elon Musk met with an unexpected response from the audience during his appearance on Dave Chappelle’s comedy show on Sunday night. The business tycoon was booed by the crowd as soon as the host brought him onstage.

Musk has been facing criticism in recent days ever since he took over Twitter and started firing employees left, right and center. His conservative-leaning tweets and statements have also resulted in backlash from activists and Democrats.

Elon Musk Booed by Crowd at Dave Chappelle’s Show

Dave Chappelle was having a special Punchline Comedy Club show at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where Elon Musk was invited as a guest. “Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world,” the host announced, inviting Musk on stage.

As soon as the billionaire arrived, he met with a mixed response of cheers and boos. Though, some spectators have revealed that the boo noises were much louder than the cheers. “You weren’t expecting this, were you?” Mask asked Chappelle, looking at the reaction.

The comedian replied, “It sounds like some of those people you fired are in the audience.” Later in the event, Chappelle was heard saying, “All these people that are booing, I’m just pointing out the obvious — they have terrible seats in the stadium.”

The host even joked that the people fired from Twitter are sitting in the audience and jeering at Musk. He added that people could boo all they want, as Musk had gifted him a jetpack last Christmas.

The Video of the Incident has been Removed by Twitter

Mobile phones were not allowed at the event; however, an attendee managed to sneak his phone inside the venue and record the video of the crowd’s reaction. He posted the video on Twitter, and it went viral soon. The footage was then taken down by Twitter, and the owner of the account was suspended from the platform.

Another attendee, James Yu, shared the details of the incident on Twitter and wrote, “Was at the Dave Chapelle show at SF tonight and who comes on but Elon Musk! A good 80% of the stadium boos. 18k people. and he withers. Like absolutely turns into a corncob. “What should I say??” He says. Dave tries to salvage the situation but to no avail.”

Yu added, “I actually felt bad for him. I’m by no means an Elon fanboy, more a centrist. I wanted to shake him: for the love of god man, say something and pretend it’s a tweet!!”

Elon Musk Responds to the Incident on Twitter

Musk has now shared his side of the story and claimed that the majority of the crowd was cheering for him. “Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that’s a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter). It’s almost as if I’ve offended SF’s unhinged leftists … but nahhh,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, at the event, the businessman looked embarrassed as every time he tried to speak, the boos grew louder. “Dave, what should I say?” asked Musk, to which the host replied, “Don’t say nothing. It’ll only spoil the moment. Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest.”
