It’s just a bunch of fake news out there as the eldest child of Donald Trump came forward and debunked these rumors. He took to Instagram, stating: “Everyone keeps sending this to me so I figured I’d let you know.” Read on to know where it all started.
Where Did It All Start?
It all started with Elon Musk’s tantrum. Last week, the billionaire held a poll asking everyone if he must step down as Twitter CEO. After 17.5 million votes later, 57.5% of people voted against him. Thereafter, Elon tweeted: “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!”

Before we move on to Donald Trump Jr.’s story, please note that platforms like Linkedin and Twitter are flooded with news, suggesting that Elon Musk is preparing for Twitter to go bankrupt. Yesterday, I came across a LinkedIn post from MIT Research scientist Lex Fridman, wherein he shared a screenshot of his tweet:
“Let me run Twitter for a bit. No salary. All in. Focus on great engineering and increasing the amount of love in the world. Just offering my hold in the unlikely case it’s useful. The tweet garnered over 29.8 K likes and was responded to by the Tesla owner himself.
Elon responded, “You must like pain a lot. One catch: You have to invest your life savings in Twitter and it has been the fast lane to bankruptcy since May. Still, want the job?” To this, Lex replied confidently, “Yes, We’ll turn it around. While Twitter’s fate is in shambles amid Elon’s maniac policies and growing fake news, one thing is sure. We do need some sensible people to save the platform’s credibility.
If you’re not aware, Russian-American AI researcher and podcast host Lex Fridman is the third most likely to succeed Musk, with “9-2 odds”. Fridman is known for regularly interacting with Elon, offering his opinions on how to run the platform.
However, another fake news that was taking place outside Twitter was about Donald Trump Jr. Several news outlets reported that Elon Musk has announced his successor, and had decided to hand over the reins to Donald Trump’s eldest son. As the news continued to float, Donald Trump Jr. thought to come forward and debunk these rumors.
Donald Trump Jr. Debunks Twitter CEO Rumors
American political activist and businessman, Donald Trump Jr., who is the eldest son of former president Donald Trump and Ivana Trump, came forward to clarify that such news about his stepping up as Twitter CEO is fake. The 44-year-old author took to Instagram and wrote: “Unfortunately this is fake news, but would be lit AF🔥🔥🔥 Everyone keeps sending this to me so I figured I’d let you know.”
As he posted, his supporters came forward and commented if this was real news. Lambert commented: “Other than your father being elected President, this would be the greatest “up yours” of all time. Braxton Mitchell commented, “We need to make this REAL news 🤣🇺🇸.” Gavin Louis commented, “I would pay $100/month for this. Braxton Mitchell again commented, “The Liberals would “leave Twitter” just as fast as they left America when Trump won! 🤣”
Swig’s comment was sensational. He wrote, “At least you would restore my account. Elon still has me banned!” Tom Egan expressed, “Dammit I was about to ask to be assistant director 🤣.” Another fan commented, “Twitter would be worth having.” Well, his Donald Jr.’s of stepping up as Twitter CEO is 50-0 as per the latest poll.
From issues like fake verified accounts to misinformation, Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has been condemned by many. This month, legendary British singer Elton John quit Twitter citing “misinformation” as a major cause.
Previously, celebrities like Sara Bareilles, R&B artist Toni Braxton, Shonda Rhimes and Gigi Hadid deactivated their Twitter following musk’s takeover. Gigi Hadid, for instance, called Twitter a “cesspool of hate and bigotry” under the billionaire’s leadership”.
LeBron James became a victim of a “fake account”. A fake Twitter account impersonating LeBron James recently announced that the basketball star was requesting a trade away from the Lakers. Recently, Jimmy Fallon’s fake death news started circulating on Twitter. Fake accounts and fake news have become a common affair amid Elon’s content moderation.
Elon’s vague policies and decisions have certainly hit the credibility of the site, which once was considered “informative” and a platform for “free speech”. Elon’s harsh policies have led to several employees leaving the company. Mass resignation comes after Elon’s ultimatum asking Twitter staff to commit to a “hardcore” work environment or “accept a buyout”. But hey, Elon continued firing those who criticised him.
As for Junior Trump, he may have debunked such rumours, but he did express that running Twitter would be “LIT AF”. As Twitter’s credibility gets hit, such clowns can only do more harm to the platform. Interestingly, some unlikely contenders include rapper Snoop Dogg, who, in response to Musk’s poll, made his own asking “Should I run Twitter?” Over 80% said “yes” and only 19% said “no” to Snoop who has odds of 75-1.
On a serious note, Sacks, Musk’s close confidant and a part of the so-called “PayPal Mafia” has 5-2 odds of replacing Musk as Twitter CEO. Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s returning odds are 100-1.
