Caitlyn Jenner’s mother Esther Jenner passes away at 96
Caitlyn’s mom Esther Jenner has left for the heavenly abode. At the time of her passing, she was 96 years old. Jenner shared a post on Instagram to announce that her mom had died.
In a post uploaded on Instagram, Caitlyn said, “I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully. Losing a mother is unique in the sense that she is the only person that loved me my entire life.”
The Olympian concluded the post by writing, “I will miss her tremendously. She was a few weeks shy of 97 and lived a full life. Love you mom.” The heartfelt post consisted of a picture of Caitlyn, Esther, and an unidentified woman celebrating the 95th birthday of the late matriarch.
The other two pictures showed Esther’s warm smile as she sat at a dinner table. Soon after, many stars and fans flooded the comments section of Caitlyn’s Instagram post with condolences.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Siggy Flicker, penned, “So very sorry for your loss. May your mom rest in peace .” Erin Elmore who participated in season 3 of the show named The Apprentice, wrote, “Sorry for your loss.”

For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Esther Jenner was the mom of the famous reality TV star and athlete Caitlyn Jenner who was born Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949.
Jenner’s parents Esther and William brought her up just outside New York City. She was well-known as Bruce until June 2015 when she revealed that she was transitioning. In January 2017, she underwent gender reassignment surgery.
Esther Jenner loved her kids and grandkids dearly
Esther loved all of her kids as well as grandkids including Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Over the years, she also made a few appearances on popular reality TV shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and I Am Cait.
She publicly supported Caitlyn throughout her transition period. In a 2015 episode of the show I Am Cait, she said, “My first feeling was, ‘I lost my son.’ Then I thought, ‘You know what? I’m gaining [a daughter]!'”
During a 2022 interview with The Sun, Esther gushed over her granddaughters Kendall and Kylie. At that time, she said, “My two granddaughters, Kendall and Kylie, created [the Hulu series] and I love them dearly. They’re my blood.”
She went on to say, “And my four step-grandchildren — Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Robert — feel like they’re mine too.” She welcomed four kids with her husband William Jenner before he died in 2000: Caitlyn, Pam Mettler, Lisa Jenner, and Burt Jenner. The pair’s son Burt passed away in a 1976 car crash.
