So for those who constantly keep up with Dorfman’s social media, they know Tommy Dorfman lives for the drama. The actress made sure to bring some on the Met Gala carpet. She made her debut on the carpet which was no less than a show stopper.
The 29 years old actress wore a unique pthalo green full length gown that had enough veil space to steal everyone’s thunder. The gown was completely completing the Met Gala’s theme which was Gilded Glamour.
Designed by Christopher Kane, the gown was a playful attempt at personifying Tommy Dorfman’s personality. The gown made of green rubber fabric was from Christopher’s FW22 collection.
Inspired by both the Black Cutout and Black Latex Minidresses from Kane’s Fall 2020 Fashion Line, the dress features many similar design elements.
The rubber fabric – so popular this season – provides a sleek silhouette which was described as a perfect fit by Tommy Dorfman.
Dorfman worked with Act + Acre for her coiffure for the Met Gala in 2022, with hairstylist Blake Erik creating a sleek bun. She also accessorized her hair with a jeweled headband.
The actress paired the custom dress with black latex gloves and a green clutch, made by Edie Parker. The clutch caught special attention on the red carpet for its phrase, “protect trans kids” written on it.

The actress who came out as transgender last summer spoke about the importance red carpet appearances hold in the lives of kids, especially trans kids who understand and explore themselves.

She expressed that if trans representation took place on the red carpets back then when she was a kid, it would definitely have helped her understand herself better and pt herself out there much earlier.
She also added that trans people and trans women like herself will do best for the coming trans generation to make them feel seen as much as possible.
