Finally, it is time to crown Miss Universe for the year 2021!
The Miss Universe 2021 pageant is all set to be held on Sunday, 12th December in Eilat, Israel. This year is the 70th Miss Universe pageant which will be happening at the Universe Arena, Port of Eilat.
The competition will conclude with Andrea Meza of Mexico crowning her successor as the Miss Universe 2021. Andrea Meza was crowned as the Miss Universe for the year 2020 by leaving behind contestants from 74 other countries.
Miss Universe Pageant 2021: Here are all details about the event
The Miss Universe 2021 event will be hosted by Steve Harvey. Harvey will be hosting the Miss Universe pageant for the sixth time this year. He also grabbed headlines back in 2015 for announcing the wrong Miss Universe winner.
The event would also witness a performance by Israeli pop singer Noa Kirel.
Fox is returning as the official broadcaster of the event this year again which was absent for the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic-related uncertainties.
Going by a press release, the Universe Arena with a seating capacity of 5,000 people was specially customized for the Miss Universe pageant and imported from Portugal.
Miss Universe Pageant 2021: How and When to watch?
The Miss Universe 2021 pageant will be aired live on Fox and Telemundo starting 7 p.m. ET.
Interested viewers and fans will be able to watch the event live in English via Fox whereas in Spanish via Telemundo.
80 contestants from around the world will be participating in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant. Out of these 80, 53 are the winners of their respective national pageants.
A participant from Morocco will be making it to the Miss Universe pageant for the first time since 1978.
Miss USA Elle Smith is participating in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant representing the USA.
Paula Shugart who is the president of Miss Universe Organization (MUO) revealed that Israel was being considered as a host country for the pageant for years.
According to Insider, Shugart shared, “We look forward to deepening our commitment to creating meaningful cultural conversation, connection, and understanding through this partnership.”

As per a press release shared with Insider, this year’s pageant will be focusing more on the global warming issue.
The press release said, “The broadcast will aim to raise awareness amongst the hundreds of millions of spectators, with the hopes of inspiring action in contestants’ community.”
