Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi just flipped another home on the market and put it for sale. Even though the couple purchased a 1915 Montecito, California cottage for its estimated value of $5.4 million back in April, they are already on the verge of giving it up.
For 107 years old, this three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath house with three bedrooms and a living room has been listed for $5.8 million.
There Will Be A Total Of Eight Real Estate Transactions In DeGeneres’ 2022 Real Estate Portfolio
Listed for just over $5.8 million, Ellen DeGeneres’ delightful cottage in Montecito’s coveted Hedgerow District proclaims, “Good things come in small packages.” The crimson front door of this newly renovated pre-Craftsman home welcomes visitors to the newly renovated home, which was built in 1915 and stretched just 1,900 square feet; the interior features a mix of original built-ins and contemporary touches.
In the next few weeks, DeGeneres will close on her eighth real estate deal of 2022, which translates into one multimillion-dollar transaction nearly every month. After acquiring the property for $5.4 million a few months ago, the former talk show host and Portia de Rossi last disclosed their renovations a while ago. Comparing photos shows there is virtually no difference between the exterior and interior.
There are hardwood floors throughout the interior, and wainscoting and vaulted ceilings make the structure appear larger than it is. In addition, several modern upgrades have been made to the bathrooms, kitchen, and two fireplaces. Backyard seating areas are accented by gurgling fountains, while two small outbuildings could be used as offices, screening rooms, or storage units – a guest cottage and a detached building.
Furniture, Art, Kitchenware, And Knick-Knacks In This Home Can Also Be Purchased Separately
The property is hidden from view behind a neat row of privet hedges. This is because it is in the Hedgerow District, where other homeowners have included Ariana Grande and Larry David.
It is also said in the listing that potential buyers can live just like DeGeneres if they so choose because all of the furnishings, art, kitchenware, and knick-knacks in this home are for sale separately.
Aside from the two Montecito cottages in the de Rossi-DeGeneres stable, they also own a stunning 1800s horse ranch and two more adorable houses. In addition, a couple of weeks ago, DeGeneres purchased Tom Ford’s former Bel Air estate for a whopping 29 million dollars.
