Gordon Lightfoot who was referred to as ‘Canada’s greatest songwriter’ recently passed away at the age of 84 on May 1, 2023, Monday. The heartbreaking news of his demise was shared by his longtime agent, Victoria Lord.
Victoria didn’t reveal any details about the cause of his death. At the time of his demise, he was in Toronto at Sunnybrook Hospital. He is survived by his third wife Kim Hasse and his six children.

At first, he walked down the aisle with a Swedish woman, named Brita Ingegerd Olaisson, in the year 1963. They got married in April 1963. The two of them met each other for the first time at a concert.
Lightfoot and Brita Ingegerd welcomed two kids together: Fred and Ingrid. The former couple got divorced in 1973 after 10 years of marriage. As per his Wikipedia page, his infidelity and touring contributed to the end of the pair’s marriage.
