Joe Biden Confirms He Will Attend Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Joe Biden to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral

During a media interaction on Friday, Joe Biden stated that he will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in Britain. While making his way to the Columbus International Airport in Ohio, he was asked whether he would be attending Queen’s funeral or not.

“Yes. I don’t know the details yet, but I’ll be going,” Biden told the reporters. As of now, the date of the funeral has not been confirmed but it is expected to take place on September 19 in Westminster Abbey, the same church where the Queen was crowned in the year 1953.

Has Joe Biden had a chat with Prince Charles?

The answer to the above question is a no. During his latest interaction with the media, the President was asked another question about Prince Charles. The reporters asked him whether he had spoken to the queen’s son, King Charles III.

“I know him. I have not spoken to him yet,” Biden replied. Joe had a quick chat with the media before boarding Air Force One at Columbus International Airport in Ohio, where he had been giving a speech.

Joe Biden paid a heartfelt tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

In his tribute, Joe Biden had nothing but good things to say about Queen Elizabeth II. He described Queen Elizabeth II as “more than a monarch” and a leader who “defined an era”.

Biden further added, “In a world of constant change, she was a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons, including many who have never known their country without her.”

He also recalled the moment when he met Queen Elizabeth II for the first time and went on to say, ‘She charmed us with her wit, moved us with her kindness, and generously shared with us her wisdom. she stood in solidarity with the United States during our darkest days after 9/11, when she poignantly reminded us that “Grief is the price we pay for love.”’

Joe concluded the statement by writing, “We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, who are not only mourning their Queen, but their dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy will loom large in the pages of British history, and in the story of our world.”

Queen Elizabeth II was the second-longest reigning monarch in world history. The death of Her Majesty marks the end of an era. The Queen is survived by her four children, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
