‘Foo Fighters’ calls off World Tour after Taylor Hawkins’ Death

The American rock band Foo Fighters has called off its forthcoming world tour dates following their drummer, Taylor Hawkins’ death. Taylor Hawkins died of a drug overdose in Columbia.

The news of Taylor’s sudden demise comes as an unimaginable loss to the band. Foo Fighters is now left with Dave Grohl (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Chris Shiflett (lead guitar, backing vocals), Nate Mendel (bass) and Pat Smear (rhythm guitar) and Rami Jaffee (touring keyboardist).

No Tour for Foo Fighters

The 12-time Grammy Awards winner has cancelled its upcoming tour dates after the sad demise of the drummer. Taylor Hawkins died an untimely death at the age of 50. In a statement yesterday, the band said:

“It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins.

“We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together. With Love, Foo Fighters.”

Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in Bogota where the band was supposed to perform at a festival. The prosecutors in Columbia released a statement stating, “urine tests confirm that Hawkins had an overdose of 10 psychoactive substances and medicines like marijuana, tricyclic antidepressants, opioids and benzodiazepines.”
