The live stream for version 2.4 streamed on 26 December 2021, at 7 a.m.(UTC-5) and it brought a lot of surprises and updates about the release date of Genshin Impact 2.4.

Here is everything we got to know from the live stream:

Release Date for Genshin Impact 2.4

The wait is almost over!

We have received an official announcement from the live stream premiere that patch 2.4 for Genshin Impact will be available to download starting from 5th January 2022.

Some rumors also suggest that the patch content can be downloaded a few days prior to the date of actual launch but it will only be playable starting from 5th January.

Patch 2.4 Updates and Details

New Characters

We got to know from the live stream that the new patch comes with the introduction of two new characters:

  • Shenhe – five-star character, Cyro Polearm
  • Yun Jin – four-star character, Geo Polearm

Players can also access characters like Zhongli, Xiao, and Ganyu that will be having a rerun.

New Weapon

Calamity Queller- a five-star polearm weapon will also be added to the array of already existing weapons in Genshin Impact. The name already sounds so cool! And what’s even cooler is that the drop rate of this weapon will be boosted in the “Epitome Invocation” Event Wish.

New Events

Two new events Ningguang and Yun Jin Hangout will also be introduced with the 2.4 version patch.

Another exciting news for players is that the biggest annual festival in Liyue will be returning in the next update. You guessed right! It’s the Lantern Rite.

The Lantern Rite event will come along with the first event Flameplune Starflowers which will be followed by the Wondrous Shadows event.

What if I Missed the Live Stream?

Well, you certainly missed out on a lot of fun and exciting news if you missed the live stream. And you certainly have a stroke of bad luck if you missed the second broadcast of Livestream later at 11 a.m. as well.

But don’t worry if you missed both the broadcasts because the whole live stream will be added to the official YouTube channel of Genshin Impact. So you can watch the live stream anytime later.

But those who missed on the broadcast also missed out on the redeem codes that would have given you a lot of goodies because the time for inputting the codes has already run out. Well, that’s a bummer!

Anyways, with the new patch and lots of exciting updates, Genshin Impact will likely start the new year with a bang. And the players are in for a treat!
