Batiste has acted in a few projects
Is there anything that this incredibly talented human being cannot do? We think no. Jon has also tried his hand at acting. He has starred in a couple of great projects. He has appeared in Spike Lee’s film Red Hook Summer.
The musician has also been a part of HBO’s series Treme. He was seen in three seasons of the show that revolves around his homeland New Orleans. In both the projects, he portrayed the role of jazz musicians.
During an interaction with his alma mater’s publication, The Juilliard Journal, Jon spilled the beans on his acting career. He said, “Well, I was just trying to figure out a way to get my music featured on the show, and the producers asked me to read and screen-test for it. I was expecting maybe just a cameo or something, but then they asked me to do this recurring role.”
He further added,” The lead character, Antoine Batiste, is based on one of my [extended] family members.” We would love to see him shine on the big screen as well.
