Here’s all you need to know about Josh Freese (his early life, career and more)

Josh Freese who comes from a family of musicians was born on December 25, 1972, in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. So, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that music runs in his genes. His father was the director at the Walt Disney Company, meanwhile, his mom was a trained classical pianist.

Freese began playing drums at the young age of 8. He started playing professionally at 12. From there on, he didn’t look back. Up until now, he has released many solo projects where he has been credited as a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist.

Over the years, Freese has co-written songs with Queens of the Stone Age, Devo, and Sting. Right now, he is one of the best drummers in the business. In the past, he has recorded for many top artists such as Katy Perry, Michael Bublé, Nelly Furtado, Kelly Clarkson, and Avril Lavigne.

He further added, “Aside from having multiple sources of income, I like the
variety of playing music with different people in different situations. Maybe if I was the drummer for Muse, I could say, ‘Ok, I’m successful enough where I don’t have to do anything else except concentrate on my band… Being in just one band…I honestly fantasize about that sometimes. I’m only human.”

In December 2022, Foo Fighters announced they will continue without Taylor Hawkins

The band members went on to say, “Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.”
