Tiya Sircar has snagged the lead role in Netflix’s latest project, the feature film “Good Sam.”

It’s based on a mystery book series of the same by Dete Meserve. The storyline follows Kate Bradley, a television reporter investigating the mysterious “Good Samaritan,” who has been leaving $100,000 on the front porch of seemingly random New Yorkers. The anonymous do-gooder is dubbed “Good Sam” by the media and the nation is curious to find out who he is.

Kate tackles the challenge of finding the elusive Good Sam and when she succeeds, her exclusive interview with the hero makes him an instant superstar. However, Kate is still suspicious of him and starts to believe the real Good Sam is still out there.

The film is being directed by Kate Melville with a script written by the book’s author Meserve along with Teena Booth.

“Good Sam” will be Sircar’s first big project with Netflix where she plays the lead. The actress has previously worked on shows like “The Mindy Project,” “Master of None,” and voiced characters on animated shows like “Spirit Riding Free” and “Star Wars Forces of Destiny.” She was also on the short-lived yet wonderful ABC show, “Alex, Inc.” Currently, she plays one of the most fun roles on the divine NBC comedy NBC’s “The Good Place.”

We’re looking forward to the seeing her continue to kill it on “Good Sam.”
