‘The Daily Show’ Announces A-List Guest Host Lineup For 2023

The show must go on! While Trevor Noah approaches his final week on ‘The Daily Show’, the Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning program announced its hilarious lineup of A-list comedians, who’d be carrying on the show’s legacy with more satirical news related to international and American political matters. Read on to know who’s coming up to fuel the show in the coming weeks.

Who Forms A Part Of The Lineup?

Trevor Noah may be gone from “The Daily Show”, but the laughs will keep coming in. The Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning show announced a hilarious lineup of A-list guest hosts who will be taking over once Trevor Noah departs this week.

The lineup of some of the most creative comedians was announced on Tuesday (Dec. 6) along with a statement by Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Paramount Media Networks. He said, “As we enter Trevor’s final week, we want to thank him for his many contributions.”

“Trevor redefined the show, as did Jon Stewart before him, and as we look to the future, we are excited to reimagine it yet again with the help of this incredible list of talent and correspondents along with the immensely talented ‘Daily Show’ team, he continued.

As for the much-awaited list, comedians such as Chelsea Handler, Al Franken, D. L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Marlon Wayans will host the show a week at a time. Noah’s last day will be Thursday (Dec. 8). The show’s new season is slated to return back to its 11 p.m. timeslot on Comedy Central Jan 17., 2023.

Why Did Trevor Noah Leave The Show?

Believe it or not, even though these talented comedians bring the best out of comedy, Trevor Noah remains unbeatable. For me, he truly redefined “The Daily Show”, giving us some real pain in the jaw.

As for his departure, Trevor Noah announced in September that he would be leaving “The Daily Show” because he believed that it was time for him to explore new ground. However, the 38-year-old assured audiences that he would not leave until a replacement host was announced.

During Trevor’s appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’, he gave an inside peek into the reasons why he is departing from the fan-favourite show, which built him from the scratch. When asked by Jimmy Fallon about the shocking decision, Trevor expressed that even though he understands his fans’ feelings, he thinks that everybody has gone through a period of looking at their lives.

“You know, every single person. We were–we’re in our apartments for two years. You know, the world changed. We experienced collective grief. I think if you don’t look at your life and think about what you’d like to do differently, then you haven’t experienced what we’ve all experienced, he told Jimmy.

Well, Trevor is just looking for broader opportunities and wants to add new things to his life. Coming back to his decision of leaving “The Daily Show”, Trevor Noah continued on the show, “I think of this as a joyous thing. I lived through a crazy time. I shared it with people, who felt kind enough to share it with me.

As for ‘The Daily Show’, the team announced that it would potentially be open to expanding the number of anchors. However, the show is still looking for someone to fill the spot permanently and start in the fall of 2023. Well, I am eagerly waiting to watch Chelsea Handler, what about you?
