For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, this year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27, 2023, Monday, and the awards were broadcast live on Fox.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards honored the most-played artists as well as songs across various iHeartRadio stations and the app in 2022. The voting for the awards opened in May.
Which artist was the big winner at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2023?
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles were among the top winners of the night. Swift took home the award for song of the year for her hit track Anti-Hero which has more than 100 million views on YouTube. On the other hand, Styles won the trophy for artist of the year.
In addition to this, Taylor also received the Innovator Award for her impact globally to pop culture. As per iHeartRadio, the Emmy-winning singer has not only had a successful music career but has also been an “advocate for women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ community, using her music and platform to inspire young people to use their voting power.”
Phoebe Bridgers presented the award to Swift. In her award-winning speech, Swift mentioned that she was “flattered” to receive the award. She also shed some light on her career and said, she always tried to “make the right decision” for herself at the time “whether or not it had ever been successfully done before.”
The Snow on the Beach crooner stated that “coolest ideas or moves or choices are the new ones, ones that set a new precedent.” She also offered a token of thanks to her fans for supporting her in her career decisions whether it be “switching genres or rerecording all of my old music.”
The Grammy winner further added, “But I do want to say the thing with these exciting nights and moments and specifically this award that i’m so lucky to have gotten is they’re shining a light on the choices I made that worked out.”
Swift went on to say, “The hundreds or thousands of dumb ideas that I’ve had are what led me to my good ideas.” She also encouraged everyone to “give yourself permission to fail.” She continued, “I try as hard as I can not to fail because it’s embarrassing but I do give myself permission to and you should too. So go easy on yourself. ”
The Pennsylvania native concluded by saying, “Make the right choices that make sense for you and someone one day might think you’re innovative.”
Pink was honored with the Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2023
During the award show, Pink picked up the Icon Award for “her impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base worldwide.”
In her beautiful acceptance speech, the Just Give Me a Reason singer spoke about all the good things in her life and career including her rocky relationship with her husband Carey Hart. She started by saying, “Thank you iHeart[Radio] for this moment.”
The Grammy winner said, “It has been said that miracles are often associated with icons. Kelly Clarkson singing with me, and Pat Benatar singing one of my songs, two of the greatest voices alive, being on stage, doing what I love with people that I love with all of my heart — and my babies in the audience — this feels like a Christmas miracle.”
The What About Us hitmaker also talked about her two kids, whom she shares with her husband Carey. She continued, “I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful I get to do this with my one precious life. Most of all, Willow and Jameson, I’m grateful to be your mama.”
Pink also thanked her manager Roger Davies and gave a shoutout to her muse husband Carey Hart and wrapped up her speech by saying, “If he loved me perfectly I would have nothing to say.”
