‘Sister Wives’ Stars Meri Brown And Kody Brown Part Ways After 32 Years Of Marriage

“Sister Wives” star Meri Brown (51) and Kody Brown (53) have parted ways after 23 years of polygamous relationship – 24 of which they were legally married. Meri Brown revealed about the controversial television personality that he made the decision after her sister-wife Christine Brown left Kody last year.

Kody Stopped Considering Meri As Wife

“Sister-Wives” star Meri Brown made a heavy-hearted announcement, confirming her split from Kody Brown after 32 years of a polygamous relationship. The couple was, however, legally married for 24 years. It was confirmed that it was Kody who broke up with Meri.

In a clip from the upcoming Sister Wives: One-on-One special, Kody was heard saying: “I don’t really consider myself married to Meri. If she wanted to move on and marry another, she wouldn’t get into an argument with me.” Meri confirmed their slip, claiming that Kody never discussed their breakup and straightaway said that he longer considered them married.

Meri also released that things went for a toss after her sister-wife Christine Brown left Kody in 2021, he was pretty “frustrated” because Christine made that decision without him. She reasoned that Kody did the same to her. “Then he says, ‘No, I don’t consider myself married to Meri,’” she revealed in a preview clip for Sunday’s episode of “Sister Wives: One on One. “Like, he just made the decision. I’ve never heard him say that to me,” Meri added.
Kodi was left by Christine Brown in November 2021, and this month Kody another partner, Janelle confirmed that she had been separated from the polygamist for several months. As for Meri, the California native, who shares a child, Leon (27) with Kody, expressed that their “dynamic became extremely fractured in the years that followed”.

Kody Brown: A Staunch Polygamist

The Brown family is known for its fair share of controversies. From multiple wives, 18 kids, a catfish scandal, and separation, to a divorce, polygamist Kody Brown has always provided enough material to paps. The TLC reality series “Sister Wives” documents the life of this polygamist to combat societal prejudices.

Kody claims that he is legally married to only one woman (Robyn), while the other marriages (to Meri, Janelle, and Christine) are “spiritual unions”. On the other hand, it has been reported that Meri legally married him in 1990, but the couple got divorced in 2014. It happened so Kody could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn. Meri and Kody may have been in a spiritual reunion, but have decided to part ways finally.

Kody and Meri’s relationship worked well until Meri got involved in a catfishing scandal. If you’re not aware, Meri entered into an online relationship with someone she thought was a man. However, it turned out to be a woman. Since then, the couple had been living separately and hadn’t been intimate with each other.

I’m not going to ever be in a conjugal relationship with her because I’m not going to go through that emotional torture ever again,” Kody said. “There’s a point where intimacy is just damage.” Kody also revealed that he would never feel safe being intimate with Meri again.

As for his other partners, Kody tied the knot with Janelle in 1993, marking his second marriage. Janelle was previously married to Adam Barber, Meri’s brother (1998-1990). Kody shares six kids with Janelle. However, the couple confirmed their split recently as Janelle didn’t want to stay with Kody.

As for Christine, she became Kody’s third wife in 1994 and shares six kids with him. She confirmed her divorce last year. Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn seems to be his favourite. The couple tied the knot in May 2010 and considers himself to be legally married to this woman. The couple shares 3 children. Robyn has three more kids from a previous marriage. “Sister Wives” airs Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
