‘Saturday Night Live’ Tackles the Aziz Ansari Debate in a Sketch

Almost a year after actor Aziz Ansari became the first South Asian to ever host an episode of the popular, long-running show “Saturday Night Live,” last weekend’s episode brought him up again. The sketch called “Dinner Discussion” tackled the discomfort of talking about the sexual assault allegations against Ansari in public.

On Jan 13, 2018, digital publication Babe published a story about Grace’s encounter with Ansari last year. This story came on the heels of Ansari winning a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his performance in “Master of None.” Now, SNL is dramatically showing us what it’s really like to talk about the many facets of this story, which has been met with all kinds of reactions.

The sketch stars the episode’s host, actor Will Ferrell, and regular SNL cast members Heidi Gardner, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kenan Thompson, and Beck Bennett as a group of friends who are out for dinner.
