Olivia Cooke Recalls Having A Mental Breakdown At The Age Of 22

There is a point in everyone’s life when they encounter a mental breakdown, which is becoming quite common nowadays. In an interview with The Observer, actress Olivia Cooke opened up about her mental health and the challenges she is facing.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress confessed to having experienced a “complete mental breakdown” at 22.

In Her 22nd Year, She Suffered A Complete Mental Breakdown.

During an interview with the Observer, House of the Dragon actress Olivia Cooke discussed her mental health and how she copes with it. According to the actress, she went through a complete mental breakdown when she was 22. A&E’s Bates Motel series, which is currently airing in Canada, has been described as a series of lonely moments for the 28-year-old actress.

“I’m so grateful for that job, but I had an adamant time on it,” reveals Cooke, who played the character Emma Decode on the Hitchcock-inspired drama that ran for five seasons from 2013 to 2017. “The way the schedule worked, we all had different storylines, so much of my time was spent in this apartment in Vancouver, working once every two weeks.”

In 2016, She Experienced An Extremely Difficult Period

According to the publication, she tells the U.K. publication that by 2016, the feeling of isolation had developed into a full-fledged depression. However, the Sound of the Metal star did not step back from acting to care for her mental health. The woman describes a full breakdown of her mental state: “It was a big old lovely cocktail: being homesick and not knowing it, have not stopped since I was 18, being on my own for large swathes. It was bad, bad. Awful.”

“Oh, no, I was working all the way through,” Cooke says when asked if he was simultaneously shooting both Ready Player One and Thoroughbreds. “I was very good at hiding it. If anything, I was like, let me escape myself.”

Who is Olivia Cooke?

Olivia Cooke is an actress from the United Kingdom. Probably the most well-known aspect of her career is her roles in television shows such as Bates Motel and Vanity Fair and in films such as Thoroughbreds and Ready Player One. She made her first appearance in the music video for One Direction’s Autumn Term tour in 2012, appearing on Harry Styles’ piggyback in the music video.

As part of the BBC miniseries production of Blackout and the adaptation that the BBC produced of The Secret of Crickley Hall, Cooke starred in two miniseries produced by the BBC in 2012. In 2014, she debuted as Emma Decody in the television series Bates Motel, a show inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, and her role as Emma Decody in the film The Quiet Ones. As of 2017, the show was scheduled to run until the end of the year.

There have been many films in which Cooke has appeared over the years, including Ouija, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, The Limehouse Golem, Katie Says Goodbye, Thoroughbreds, and Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi epic Ready Player One. I also played roles in films such as Life Itself, Sound of Metal, Pixie, Little Fish, and Naked Singularity, among others.

The actress played Becky Sharp, one of the most iconic literary characters, in the miniseries adaptation of Vanity Fair that Cooke starred in in 2017. In a series appearing on Apple TV+ earlier this year, Cooke was paired with Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden in Slow Hores.

There has been much discussion about Olivia Cooke’s role as Queen Alicent Hightower and her upcoming role in the television series House of the Dragon. In response to this, Cooke said, “I f***ing love that comparison because Cersei was my favorite character. Alicent’s got a very dark side to her, but she’s also striving for what she thinks is good, even though it’s just misplaced.”

I was wondering if you had ever faced a mental breakdown like Olivia did, and if so, what were your experiences, and how did you overcome them?
