What Happened in Episode 3:Recap
Episode 3 is titled “Long, Long Time.” The episode captured Bill and Frank’s life together. It began with Joel and Ellie making out of Boston after Tess’s death. They head over to meet Bill and Frank for resupplying. After seeing a mass grave, Ellie questions it. Joel explains that the military killed all people who were not valuable, as dead people don’t fall sick.
In a flashback, the military evacuates a village and relocates the people. Bill has been preparing for the end of the world scenario. He is well-equipped and a competent Scavenger. Bill makes a life for himself by using his mechanical skills to make a secure facility.
Three years later, Frank falls into one of his traps set for the infected. They end up falling in love, and Frank makes a home together. The episode covers how they meet Joel and Tess and form an unlikely friendship.
Episode 3 covers Bill and Frank navigating through life amid the pandemic. At some point in time, frank falls ill and is paralyzed. After spending 13 years, they decide to end their life together.
Joel reaches their home and finds a letter from Bill stating that he is leaving everything to him and Tess. Joel and Ellie stock up and drive away in Bill’s car to find Tommy. The episode was very emotional and beautifully captured, a perfect love story even when the world ended.
