Katy Perry is working on new music and she is all set to hit the road again! During her recent interview with Out, The One That Got Away hitmaker spilled the beans on her Play residency.

Katy Perry is working on a new album
Yeah, you read that right. While having a conversation with Out, Katy spoke about her Play residency coming to an end. She also told the publication that she is currently working on her new album.
Katy shed some light on her Play residency and she said, “It was something I had started thinking about pre-pandemic and [I] was able to take the time and dream it up and do it the right way throughout that time where everybody was on pause.”
The Harleys in Hawaii singer went on to say, “I had such great luck with timing concerning it. I have so many memories of coming to Las Vegas before I had a residency. I feel very connected to it. It’s where we used to vacation. I used to come to Vegas and visit my grandma. My parents used to drop us off in the basement of the Excalibur! I remember all of it.”
When will Katy Perry’s ‘Play’ residency end?
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Perry’s Play residency will wrap up at the end of the year. She told the media outlet that she’s planning a tour in the future. Not only this, but she also revealed that she is working on her seventh album right now.
The mom of one continued, “I still love making music. I still love spreading light and love. I know there’s a lot of people who couldn’t make it to Vegas. The last time I was on tour was in 2018. I’m… due. How about that? I’m due to go out and see the kids that couldn’t make it to Vegas.”
Perry also disclosed one thing that’s on her bucket list and it’s none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race. She said, “It’s absolutely on my bucket list. We’re just trying to figure out the best date to do it. I adore Ru and that is an iconic show. I’m inspired by that show daily.”
Katy Perry released her sixth album ‘Smile’ in 2020
Katy’s sixth album named Smile saw the light of day in the year 2020. It was dropped on August 28, 2020, by Capitol Records. It consisted of songs such as Not the End of the World, Smile, and Daisies.
Perry’s album Smile also contained the 2019 hit singles Harleys in Hawaii and Never Really Over. Her album debuted at no.5 on the Billboard 200. She described her album as her “journey towards the light, with stories of resilience, hope, and love”.
