On Tuesday, Johnny Depp and Cannes were two topics trending on the social media platform Twitter. This year, Depp hit the red carpet in front of the Palais des Festivals for his film Jeanne Du Barry.
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, the Hollywood actor and filmmaker Johnny Depp and French actress Maïwenn play the titular roles in the period drama.
The movie also stars Pierre Richard, Benjamin Lavernhe, Noémie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory, Melvil Poupaud, and India Hair. In the movie, Johnny essays the role of 18th-century monarch Louis XV, meanwhile, Maïwenn plays the role of his favorite mistress.
For the event, Depp wore a black suit. He pulled his hair back in a sleek ponytail. He completed his look with a few rings and a pair of sunglasses. He signed a few autographs and posed for pictures with fans at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Michael Douglas receives Honorary Palme d’Or at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival
At the end of Tuesday’s opening ceremony, the legendary actor and film producer Michael Douglas was presented with the honorary Palme d’Or for his great contribution to films and the world of cinema. Uma Thurman paid a tribute to Douglas at Cannes. He has starred in films like The China Syndrome, Basic Instinct, Falling Down, and Behind the Candelabra.
During his speech, the Oscar winner joked around and stated that he is 78 which means he is 2 years older than the film festival. He said, “76 years old? I’m even older than the festival.”
Douglas’s wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and daughter Carys Zeta accompanied him to the popular film festival. The trio marked their presence at the screening of Jeanne du Barry and the opening ceremony red carpet.
For the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival, the Basic Instinct actor looked handsome in a black tux and matching bow tie. Catherine, for her part, opted to wear a low-cut red dress. The pair’s daughter Carys donned a semi-see-through white gown.
