“Scream 6” star Jenna Ortega appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and took turns with the host in a game of “Box Of Lies”, as the two explored what’s hidden inside their mystery boxes. Here’s the catch, both cannot see each other’s contents and are separated by a window. Read on to know who aced in this funky game of truth and lies. The Nine Mystery Boxes…
The latest episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” was a lot spooky! Well, not just because Jimmy hosted Jenna Ortega, but also because the two indulged in a game “Box of Lies”.
As Jenna took her seat, Jimmy explained the rules of the game. He started by saying: “We have nine mystery boxes containing objects no one has ever seen before. On your turn, you pick up the box, take out the object, describe it to your opponent, and they have to guess if you’re lying or telling the truth.
After exchanging some spooky glances, Jenna was asked to pick any box. As she chose box no. 3, which contained a picture of Chewbacca from Star Wars. A confused Jenna stated: “I don’t understand what’s happening.” But again, she saw the contents of the box and revealed that it looked like an Adams family-themed set-up. As she saw a picture of Jimmy Fallon, she went on describing the scene where Jimmy is reading a magazine, next to Chewbacca and it looks like he’s outside in the park.
It was then Jimmy’s turn to figure out if Jenna was telling the truth or lying. Jimmy responded that Jenna is telling the truth and bingo! No matter how awkward the description sounded, Jimmy got the answer right. Well, the Vanity Fair Chewbacca article is too niche. Still, confused about this game? Jimmy picked up box. no. 5 and pulled out a painting. He described it as: “It’s a famous painting, something you see in the museum. Here’s what’s funny, it’s not the painting, it’s the face, it’s Colonel Sanders.” After a little struggle, Jenna stated that Jimmy was telling the truth. Phew, she got it all wrong though as Jimmy was lying the whole time. It was just a funky transition of Monalisa.
A Lie Full Of Marshmallows…
On her turn, Jenna decided to go with the box. no. 1 this time. As she opened the box, a bobblehead, a hat with wheels and marshmallows fell out. Jenna continued to describe the contents: “There’s a bobblehead of Peter Pan, he seems to be in business attire, but he has also been placed in a cowboy hat with wheels and there are so many marshmallows.
This one was a difficult guess for Jimmy as Jenna put up a real act this time. He said: “If you’re lying it’s pretty good because you have a good imagination.” After much speculation, Jimmy went with the truth but lost because Jenna certainly was lying. What a funky game!
Jenna has been promoting “Scream 6”, which is set to release today (March. 10). During a recent NYC premiere of the movie, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction of sorts after she accidentally got an ink stain on her gorgeous black and white dress with a plunging neckline.
Jenna was reportedly giving autographs at the star-studded premiere when her blue Sharpie made contact with her stylish couture. However, the 20-year-old “Wednesday” star poked fun at the situation in an Instagram post. She wrote in the caption: “#sharpiestainwhogivesashit”.
She also apologised to Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing for getting Sharpie on the couture dress he designed. “#imsosorryolivier @olivier_rousteing”, she wrote in the caption. Since Wednesday premiered last year, Jenna has managed to gain 10 million new Instagram followers. Presently, she has over 40 million IG followers. Besides her spooky looks, she has truly made a mark in the horror genre since the start of her career.
“I am definitely the actress who’s like, ‘More blood,’” Jenna Ortega revealed in a previous interview. “If I’m going to speak up about anything, or put my two cents in about anything, it would be that: Let a scene be as gory and crimson as possible.” Yea, gore has always fascinated Ortega; she wanted to start acting, at all six years old, because she watched a movie that scared her and it was none other than Scream. Who knew she’d take up a role in one of those?
The “You” actress starred in her role in “Scream IV,” along with other movies like “American Carnage” and “X.” “I never want to be pigeonholed, but I have immense respect for the horror genre,” she spoke in an interview last year. “It’s incredibly hard for me to turn down a good horror script and I’ve been lucky enough to do a lot of it in recent years.”
As for “Scream 6”, the movie, starring Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, opens on March 10. The movie follows up after the events of “Scream” (2022), wherein survivors, including Tara and Sam Carpenter, played by Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
