Genre directors are really paving their way with refreshing takes on classic films. One of the brilliant directors taking the legacy forward is Brandon Cronenberg.
The Canadian director/screenwriter has had a breakthrough considering his perspectives coming from his old man, David Cronenberg, known as one of the prominent directors in the industry.
The son Cronenberg really fits in the shoes of taking forward the genre’s reputation and keeping up with audience expectations. Talking about the director’s latest feature-length film, this is certainly not your typical horror movie.
However, it’s still one that will keep you on your toes throughout its entirety due to its creative premise and strong cast performances by Alexander Skarsgård and Cleopatra Coleman.
Infinity Pool is an excellent example of Cronenberg’s unique style. If you got paced up with the news of the upcoming horror thriller, here is everything you need to know about Infinity Pool.
Infinity Pool Trailer Features Gothic Elements Inbetween Violence And Hedonism
Brandon Cronenberg, son of horror legend David Cronenberg, has released the trailer for Infinity Pool and it’s going to be quite a trip. The movie follows a vacationing couple dragged into a twisted game of violence.
The trailer takes s straight into the lives of James played by Alexander Skarsgård. We see him working on his writing as he struggles to finish his second book. The trailer also introduces us to Em who is married to James.
Em is a rich wealthy woman who looks after his husband’s financial needs as he is discovering himself. The film starts when the couple decides to take a day trip to a resort, everything goes well until James hits a man with his car. After that mishap, he’s given the death sentence.
To avoid a grim fate, James pays an exorbitant amount of money to send a doppelgänger to his execution. That seems like a perfect setting for a bloody and gripping horror film, but Infinity Pool has just started.
After murdering someone who looks just like him, James finds himself with a new lease on life. He had been condemned to death before and now that he’s officially gone, his limits are unlimited.
The preview shows that Mia Goth convinces him to go on a wild journey and the more James touches, the more he gets addicted to it. In the end, he loses what it means to be human without regrets.
