Congratulations are in order for Gina Rodriguez as the actress has become a mother! The Jane the Virgin actress has welcomed her first child with her husband Joe Locicero. The exciting news was confirmed when Rodriguez was seen strolling in Los Angeles with their baby.
The 38 year old actress announced her pregnancy in July last year. Since then, she has candidly spoken about her preparation to embrace motherhood in several interviews. She has been married to actor and writer Joe LoCicero, 36, since 2019.

On Saturday, Rodriguez was spotted taking a stroll in Los Angeles while her baby was strapped to her chest in a carrier. She wore casual clothes for her outing, sporting a black t-shirt and lowers with Nike sneakers. Meanwhile, the newborn was wrapped under a blanket.
Rodriguez and Locicero did not announce the arrival of their child on social media. They have also not yet revealed the sex or the name of their little munchkin. A few weeks ago, the actress had shared how she was doing ‘all the preparation’ to welcome her child.
“I feel like I’m taking 72 different classes from conscious parenting to hypnobirthing to doula classes to prenatal yoga to figuring out how best I can prepare to be ready for birth because that just feels like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I am really leaning on all the mothers around. All the people that have done it before me, hoping they’ll teach me,” she said.
The Actress Announced her Pregnancy in July 2022
Rodriguez revealed the news of her first pregnancy on Instagram on her 38th birthday in July last year. She posted a video which showed a positive pregnancy test and wrote, “This birthday hits different.”
A few days later, she stated being pregnant made her feel like a ‘superwoman.’ In August 2022, she was quoted saying, “I’m very excited and overwhelmed and feel like a superwoman. I feel like every day is bizarre and different, and I have so much appreciation for every human being that has brought a child onto this planet.”
“Anytime I see somebody with a child, I’m like, ‘Congratulations, you’re a superhero.’ I’m trusting my body and I’m trusting that I have incredible human beings around me to protect me and help me and support me. I have incredible women that have taught me so much — so many mothers that I’m learning from,” the actress continued.

Gina Rodriguez met Joe Locicero on the sets of her show Jane the Virgin, where he guest starred in one of the episodes in 2016. The two soon started dating and got engaged two years later, in 2018.
At the time, the actress had expressed her excitement by saying, “I don’t even really want to say it’s happening. I just want to live! I think there’s a huge blessing in the fact that people care. That’s a beautiful thing, so that feels really good.” The couple then tied the knot in May 2019.
