Rihanna is already aware that Coldplay’s Chris Martin is head over heels for her. The 34-year-old singer, who is all geared up to perform the halftime show at the Super Bowl 2023 on Sunday (Feb 12.), received praise from Chris, who described her as the “best singer of all time”. Read on to learn more about what Martin thinks of the Barbadian singer.
Chris Martin Can’t Wait To Watch Rihanna…
Coldplay’s frontman is head over heels for Rihanna. Chris Martin, who performed at the Super Bowl in 2016, expressed his views about the Barbadian singer during a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. Calling her the “best singer of all time”, Coldplay’s frontman described his excitement about Rihanna’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl 2023 on Sunday (Feb 12).
“I don’t know Rihanna very well. I’m mainly just a fan, and we have performed with her a few times, and you’re right, it is rarer and rarer for her to just sing, which is what makes it even more special, and in a strange way, it shows that she really, really wants to do it, Chris expressed.
He further noted, “No one can make Rihanna do anything at this point, and so I think the fact that she has chosen to do it now when her stock couldn’t be … you have to be an idiot not to recognize that she’s the best singer of all time.” Chris added that it’s hard for him and he’s very biased towards the “We Found Love” artist as he is a huge fan. “I mean, I think she could just walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that would be just great,” he concluded.
Well, Rihanna and “Coldplay” go back in time. The two worked together in 2012 on the song ‘Princess of China’ which they performed live at the Grammy Awards. Not only this, but Rihanna made a surprise cameo along with the band during their Mylo Xyloto Tour in London, England.
Rihanna’s First Performance At Super Bowl 2023…
It’s not just Chris who is excited to watch Rihanna perform. Fans across the globe can’t wait to watch the 34-year-old singer in action at her halftime performance at Super Bowl 2023. Well, it’s indeed a special moment for Rihanna as she can’t wait to perform in front of her little son, who was born in May 2022.
As for her performance, Rihanna recently expressed this feeling in an interview:Â “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world. You can do anything, and the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.
“So, as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all, and it’s important for me to do this year. It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that,” Rihanna concluded. Rihanna’s upcoming halftime performance would be 13 minutes long.
In a recent interview with Billboard, she stated: “You’re just running around for 13 minutes trying to put like a two-hour set for 13 minutes. And you’re gonna see it on Sunday (Feb. 12) from the time it starts, it just never ends until the very last second. I know I’m saying too much, but it’s a jam-packed show.”
During a press conference for Super Bowl in Phoenix, the “Work” singer revealed that she had been working on the performance for a while. “It’s a lot of preparation. This is the week that – it really is [about] being tested. Everyone, we’re just tightening up everything, everybody’s dialing in, everybody’s tuning up and it’s a lot of moving parts,” she said about the halftime show.
She also stated that there would be 30 to 400 people “breaking the stage down and building it back up and getting it out in eight minutes”. It’s incredible. It’s almost impossible,” she expressed about the hard work that has gone into making things possible. Super Bowl 2023 kicks off tomorrow at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and will be broadcasted live on Fox.
