Chris Evans reveals he’s lost 15 pounds since leaving the Captain America role
Yes, you heard it right. During a recent interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the 41-year-old spilled the beans on playing Captain America and he stated that he lost nearly 15 pounds since leaving the legendary role of Captain America.
While promoting his new film Lightyear, the MCU actor told the media outlet, “I’ve shed like 15 pounds. Every time people see me they’re like, ‘You ok? You lost a little bit of weight.’”
Chris went on to say that he “hasn’t had to hit the gym as hard” since his last performance as the iconic character in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Soon after his departure, the role of Captain America was passed onto Anthony Mackie.
The 41-old-said stated that there’s no one better than Anthony Mackie to take over as Captain America. He continued, “There’s no one better to do it. I mean, he honest does it justice. I’m so proud of him. I can’t wait to see what they do in the future with it. But if there’s any tear shed [about the role], it’s just for the sweet memories I had.”
Evans also said that leaving the role of Captain America did not just change him physically but has also given him open waters. He further added, “It’s different. For 10 years you always have a movie around the corner. For 10 years it’s always, you know, you finish one and then your life is scheduled by, ‘OK, in six months we have press, in six more months we have the next movie.’”
Chris enjoys having a lighter schedule now
Post his exit from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, Chris has been enjoying a lighter work schedule in contrast to his hectic schedule before. He said that his time on MCU coming to an end was bittersweet.
The Knives Out actor further added, “There’s parts of it that are nice and parts of it that I really, really miss because it was a role that meant a lot to me.”
