After reprising the role of Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Charlie Cox is set to return for his own solo Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. The star has already made two cameos before getting his first own series.
Charlie Cox Talks About Crossovers in the MCU
Cox appeared in the MCU for the first time in a short cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That cameo took the fans by surprise. But The Hawkeye Disney+ series were full of Daredevil references. Before the finale, it was revealed that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin was the mastermind behind all the crimes.
Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Disney+ in 2024. But rumors are already suggesting that there will be multiple big cameos in the series. The Daredevil star Charlie Cox himself has given such indications while speaking with Metro.
The actor spoke: “I don’t know anything. I haven’t read anything from any scripts. So I don’t know. I have no idea. But the only thing that’s fun going forward for the Daredevil show is that of course when we were on Netflix, we didn’t have the opportunity to really have the crossovers other than the characters that we knew we had in that Netflix Marvel world.”
Though the actor did not give any indication of the actual plot, he clearly hinted that the crossover will happen due to the shift from Netflix to Disney+. Cox is looking forward to working under MCU, as he sees a lot of potential in his character. He added: “Now that door is wide open to all sorts of possibilities and that, for me, as someone who’s become a great fan of the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe”.
Cox Eager to Work With She-Hulk
The actor again put emphasis on cameos. He spoke: “we can have cameos from other characters that we couldn’t before.”
Before the end of the interview, the actor gave away another hint of the return of She-Hulk in his show. He talked a lot about her, as he spoke: “I thought she [Tatiana Maslany] was amazing as Jennifer Walters, and I would be a huge… certainly an advocate of her showing up in our show if she’s free and available and willing and all of those things. So I would love for that to happen. I have no idea if that is possible.”
The Possible Cast of Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming series. This will be the first solo series of the canceled Netflix characters. Back on Netflix, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil was the most popular character. Marvel was trying to get the blind superhero’s rights for a long time.
By joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Daredevil can team up with many street-level superheroes like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and many others. Rumors are that Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher may make cameos in the series. Michael Gandolfini has also joined the Daredevil: Born Again cast as the newest member in an unknown role.
Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney+ in Spring 2024 with 18 episodes and the plot is set right after the events of Echo. This series may introduce the characters from Netflix’s canceled Marvel series. So, several important cameos may happen in the series.
