Brad Pitt sold his most prized possessions recently! The California compound in the neighbourhood of Los Feliz, once home to Brad, Angelina Jolie and their six kids, is sold for a whopping $39 million.
The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actor owned the place for almost three decades after buying it for just $1.7 million. The 59-year-old actor bought the house from Elvira (aka Cassandra Peterson) in 1994. Brad decided to sell this incredible estate as he’s moving to Carmel in Northern California.
The Craftmanship & History Behind…
The historical California estate was originally built in 1910 by an oil baron. If you aren’t aware, this is the same place where Jimi Hendrix wrote: “May This Be Love”. Brad Pitt lived in this house with his ex-wife and children until he split from Jolie in 2016.
The present-day house is 6,700 square feet and includes a skate park, a movie theatre, a ballroom, a stone house and a massive Koi pond. The private property, surrounded by lush landscaping, is located in the Hollywood Hills community.
Brad Pitt also bought several adjacent lots to the estate over the years, and dedicated himself to designing and building new structures, along with remodeling the old ones. The estate is a true anecdote of perfect craftsmanship and sits on 1.9 acres of land. The property was listed by the star back in January for 45 million. It was reported that Brad was looking for “something smaller”.
Brad Pitt has always been vocal about his love for architecture. Over the years, the actor has invested in some of the most trophy real estate. During his appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s interview, Brad spoke about his affinity for all things architecture and interior design.
“I love that architecture is this huge art piece you can be inside. I believe it lifts your soul and affects your mindset.” In 2012, the actor collaborated with furniture maker Frank Pollaro. He also narrated a documentary Unity Temple about craftsman, Frank Lloyd Wright.
The 59-year-old actor and producer has owned residences in Hollywood, Mallorca, New York City, New Orleans, and the south of France, with a rumored property in the Lake of the Ozarks region of his native Missouri. But then, there are no public records for the same.
