Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania launched its final trailer during last night’s College Football Playoff National Championship. The trailer revealed a lot of details about most of the characters. The trailer also teased how big of a threat Kang is in the next two phases.
What Does the Ant-Man 3 Trailer Reveal?
This trailer gives a darker vibe than the previous one. The previous trailer focussed more on the surface world than the quantum realm. It also began on a happy note.
But the latest one is the exact opposite of the previous one. It begins with Kang’s narration. The trailer mainly focuses on Kang and Scott Lang’s interactions and their unknown deal to help each other.
The new trailer begins with showing Scott and Hope van Dyne’s celebrity lives after the Avengers: Endgame events. As Scott’s daughter, Cassie has gotten older now, she is not different than her father’s previous life. One scene shows Cassie coming out of jail which indicates her criminal activities.
But then the scenes shift to the center stage of the story, Quantum Realm. In the previous trailer, Casey Lang was sucked into the Quantum Realm after inventing a new device. However, in this trailer, Kang promises Lang to help him to save his daughter in return for something.
In one scene, Janet van Dyne warns Scott about Kang and his ill intentions. Scott soon turns against Kang and the two turn against each other towards the end of the trailer. However, fans will be worried as Ant-Man also mentioned sacrificing himself to defeat Kang the Conqueror once and for all.
The trailer also showed a glimpse of MODOK for the first time in the MCU as Kang’s companion. Reports from Hollywood are also suggesting that Bill Murray will portray the role of Lord Krylar, “the governor of Axia, a bizarre and cushy community within the Quantum Realm”.
What Can Fans Expect From the Film?
Kang will be the primary antagonist of the film, but more importantly, it’s his debut in the main MCU continuity. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will kick start the Phase V of the MCU, and give a deeper and more complex taste of Quantum Realm again to Marvel fans.
The official plot synopsis of the film from Marvel suggests: “Super Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.”
When Will the Movie Hit the Theatres?
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, opens in theaters on February 17, 2023. The film will feature Ant-Man and his adventures in the Quantum Realm and going up against Kang played by Jonathan Majors.
However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is far from done with the Multiverse and the Quantum Realm. The ending of the film will be vital as the outcome of this plot will play a crucial role in what is coming next in the Multiverse Saga.
