Halloween might be over but we are still drooling over Deepica Mutyalaâs choice of costume: Wonder Woman but with cultural twist. One of the greatest faces to represent South Asian-Americans in the beauty world, Mutyala took it a notch further this year with her brilliant costume as South Asian Wonder Woman.

Mutyala is wearing the superhero costume, yes, but sheâs adorned herself with stunning gold Indian jewelry, henna, and a sparkly dupatta. Her look is inspired by Gal Gadotâs on-screen persona in one of 2017âs biggest hits, “Wonder Woman,” which released in June. The film brought back the much-needed focus on women heroes.
The director of the movie, Patty Jenkins, tweeted about Mutyalaâs avatar.
Maybe we inspired her, but she inspires us right back. So glorious. https://t.co/M8aLzikjbD

The beauty blogger wants to share an important message via her campaign #BeYourOwnPrincess. “Be you for YOU,” she writes, “I say this looking into a mirror honestly. Iâm pretty confident in my skin but we all are human and have our days. Everyone has a little Wonder Woman in them - use that to create what works for YOU! She doesnât necessarily need a cape or cuffs - my personal Wonder Woman wears a sari and bangles and they do the job just as well.”
She also refers to #BeYourOwnHero, another campaign she took up, which resulted in her dressing up not only as Princess Jasmine, Cinderella, Ariel but also Prince Charming.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! ğ»ğğ Hereâs a look back at some of my costumes the past few yrs starting w/ this skullface from @HeidiKlumâs Halloween party last year where I definitely woke up the next day on vogue.com looking like @therealkamieâs demented daughter â ï¸ğ¤¦ğ¾ââï¸. Swipe left to see THAT pic + others like that time I was Storm â¡ï¸â¡ï¸& scroll all the way through for that time I painted Regis Philbinâs dracula teeth with DIY blood on the TODAY Show. SO FUN! P.S. I plan to eat a ton of candy and binge watch Halloween movies - whatâs your fav? Mines Hocus Pocus…predictable I know but whatever itâs the best â¤ï¸. Xx #halloween #halloween2017
