“Homecoming King” Hasan Minhaj is now a champion! Minhaj will be joining the cast of Mindy Kaling’s new show on NBC titled “Champions.” The Indian-American stars will be siblings on “Champions” and we can’t contain our excitement.

Seeing these two pioneers of South Asian talent in Hollywood in one show is going to be too fabulous for words. Kaling and Minhaj are both comedians, actors, and writers so expectations are high for the comic stylings we’ll be privy to between these two, even though Minhaj is a recurring guest on the show.

On “Champions” Kaling plays Priya and Minhaj will essay the role of Rohit, aka Ro, her super wealthy brother. Minhaj’s character leads a lavish lifestyle which impresses his nephew, Priya’s son Michael (J. J. Totah). The plot of the show revolves around Vince (Anders Holm), an ambitionless gym owner who Priya dated in high school and had a son, unbeknownst to him. The adventure starts when Priya decides to leave her teenage son, Micheal with Vince and his dumb but pretty younger brother Matthew, played by Andy Favreau. The cast also includes Mouzam Makkar, Fortune Feimster, and Nina Wadia.

After a brilliant Netflix special, hosting the 2017 White House Correspondents Dinner and holding the role of the senior correspondent on “The Daily Show,” it will be refreshing to see Minhaj back on a regular television show in 2018.
