Kayleigh Scott Dies From Apparent Suicide…

Kayleigh Scott (25), a flight attendant, who became famous for appearing in a United Airlines commercial and shared the story of her transition as a trans woman, has sadly passed away. It is reported that she died from an apparent suicide as she posted on social media about planning to end her life.

Kayleigh was found dead Monday (March 20) in her apartment in Denver, Colorado. Just before the discovery, the trans flight attendant posted a concerning note on her social media.

“As I take my final breaths and exit this living earth, I would like to apologize to everyone I let down. I am so sorry I could not be better. To those that I love, I am sorry I could not be stronger. To those that gave me their everything, I am sorry my effort was not reciprocated,” Scott wrote on Instagram.

She continued in her post, “Please understand that my leaving is not a reflection of you, but the result of my own inability to turn myself for the better. To Ashley, Cynthia, Regine & Sophia. I am so sorry. Please remember me for the good memories we have shared, and never for my downfall. I will see you all again on the other side.”

Kayleigh’s post was flooded with comments from extremely concerned fans, with many suggesting they were calling the police in Denver to conduct a welfare check. Katleigh’s death was confirmed by her sister on her social media post. “To all who have commented and those watching this post, Kay has passed,” Ashley said. “Thank you for your concern and outpouring of love for her. We are going to miss her so much.”

One person who came across Kayleigh Scott spoke in an interview, “I was up all night.  Many of us, just like myself, who couldn’t sleep, jumped on it right away. All night I tried to reach out, called, texted, and messaged her family on [Facebook], as did others. Finally, someone was able to send the police for a wellness check, unfortunately, it was too late.”

Scott’s mother, Andrea Sylvestro also posted about her daughter’s passing. “I now have words, my mind is completely rushed with thoughts of you and you like a flooded river are just rushing through my heart.”

“Kayleigh Scott … I am so unbelievably proud to have you as my daughter, proud and amazed by everything that you have done in your life, your smile was absolutely beautiful, your laughter was unbelievably contagious, and your heart was bigger than any of us could have ever understood,” she added in her post.

United Airlines also released a statement on her untimely death and stated that it was saddened by the loss of Ms Scott. “We are incredibly saddened by the tragic loss of Kayleigh Scott and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and coworkers,” the company mentioned in the statement.

More About Kayleigh Scott…

Kayleigh Scott didn’t reveal much about her personal life, but her friends revealed that the flight attendant was suffering from depression for a long time. However, her Instagram revealed that she was an avid skier and mountain climber. On New Year’s Day 2023, she shared a heart-breaking post on Facebook wherein she narrated the difficulties she faced in the past year.

She revealed that she witnessed a lot of deaths and losses in her life. She also specified that she was not valued as an employee at her place of work. “I’m really struggling to find happiness and hope. I’m begging 2023 to be better for me. Please,” she wrote in that post.

If you don’t know this, Scott was featured as a part of the United Airlines’ diversity campaign in 2020. Through the video, she spoke about her struggles and shared her transition via the platform. She said:

“There was so much pain behind that sweet boy’s eyes … This is a story that I know is so important for me to continue sharing,” said Scott in the video documenting her struggles to fit into the cis community. “Not for me, but for those out there who are still fighting social norms, the boundaries set upon them, fighting themselves. Gay, lesbian, bi, trans, pan, whatever, whoever you identify as come out to be counted.”

She revealed that United Airlines contributed a lot to her transition and accepted her with open arms in the organization. She narrated that she was thoroughly supported by her company, the business resource group for LGBTQ+ employees and the rest of her co-workers. She said she was able to break free of her chains and has been living confidently.

Even though the police authorities were alerted after her post, it was already late by the time they reached her apartment. The Denver Police Department has stated that an investigation is still ongoing, and a final determination for the cause of death will be made by the Denver Medical Examiner’s Office. Our heart goes out to her family in this tough time.
