Every, now and then, we have seen various trends taking the social media app TikTok by storm. Some trends are liked by the people, meanwhile, others make the people question why they have an account on the platform. Read on to know everything about the Dupe TikTok trend.
Here’s all you need to know about the Dupe TikTok trend
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, the Dupe trend is a way of mocking all the other videos on the social media platform where people support or promote finding the perfect dupe i.e. copy of a very popular item.
For example, you may have come across many peeps creating videos about paying a visit to a thrift store and coming across Zara, Gucci, and other dupes. The trend revolves around the idea and people have jumped on the bandwagon to make their own versions of it.
A few users are trying to make the trend funny by saying “doop” instead of “dupe.” Besides this, the trend has left many users feeling frustrated and they even expressed their thoughts on the trend on social media.
One social media user wrote, “I’m gonna say it the “dupe” trend on TikTok is the worst most unfunny TikTok trend in the history of TikTok I hate it.” Followed by a user who penned, “Maybe I’m a hater but I hate that dupe trend.”
Another user went on to say, “That dupe trend on TikTok enrages me.” A user chimed in, “Dupe trend is annoying. speaking my truth.” A comment read, “Possible unpopular opinion, but the second someone says “xxxx dupe” on the clock app, I block them. It might be the most obnoxious trend that’s hit my FYP so far.”
Recently, the croissant trend took over TikTok
Just a couple of weeks before, people flooded the app TikTok with loads of croissant emojis. It all began when a social media user who went by the username @thesleepyparamedic posted a video talking about “operation crumb blast.”
In the TikTok video, the user asked the people to comment using a croissant emoji on any video that they come across on their ‘For You’ page. In the clip, he can be heard saying, “Every video regardless of content or creator needs its own croissant today. Let us throw the masses into croissants and induce confusion and watch humanity unfold before our very eyes.”
In the blink of an eye, the people filled the comments section of the TikTok videos with croissant emojis. Before croissants, storytime and crop comments went viral on the platform.
