Meet Bryan Silva: Rapper Gets Arrested by Cops for Making Social Media Threats Against UVA

In a 2014 interview with Complex, the 31-year-old rapper said, “I believe I was 14 when I ended up moving back to Virginia. A couple of months later I got locked up for three years.” At that point in time, he revealed that he hit his school’s principal.

Yeah, you read that right. Then, Bryan told the media outlet that the principal of the school pissed him off and he went on to say that the principal stated that he threw a chair at him and stuff. Let us share with you, Silva didn’t graduate high school.

At first, Bryan started bodybuilding and pursued a career in the field of fitness. Soon after, he started his own clothing line, and then, he began rapping. Back in the day, he said, “It’s not really rapping, because I’m not really rapping, I’m mainly just freestyling.”

Bryan started bodybuilding when he was locked up in jail, he continued to pursue it seriously when he got released from prison. He moved out of California —La Quinta at the age of 19.

Not long ago, Bryan Silva was linked to a shooting at the University of Virginia that took place on Sunday night, November 13, 2022. The cops stated that a couple of “concerning” social media posts led them to suspect Silva.

Later on, the investigation shifted to former student-athlete Christopher Darnell Jones. But that didn’t mean that Bryan was removed from the scene completely. Some online speculations have spilled the beans on the alleged involvement in the shooting that took place on the university grounds.

A few hours before the shooting, Bryan made a post on the social media platform Facebook that led many social media users to believe that he was behind the incident. As per various reports, he posted many snaps of him holding a gun on Facebook.

Bryan wrote, “I want u v a to know what pain and suffering is. They put me through that everyday of my life here and laughed in my face. I want them to feel how I feel. I will sell everything I have to make that pain and suffering happen.”

His Facebook posts caused a stir on social media. Soon after, the netizens linked them to the shooting incident. Users even tagged both the Charlottesville Police Department and the University of Virginia Police Department in Silva’s troubling post.

A user named Lisa Carol Turner tagged both police departments and wrote, “I don’t care if he is not the shooter tonight. He will be.” The cops arrested Bryan but it has been stated that it has nothing to do with the shooting at the University of Virginia.

After Bryan’s social media posts caught the attention of the authorities, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession or transportation of firearms, firearms ammunition, stun weapons, explosives, or concealed weapons by convicted felons.

What did the cops have to say about Bryan Silva’s arrest?

A spokesperson for the police authorities told Newsweek, “During the course of [Sunday’s] tragic events, the University of Virginia Police Department and the UVA threat assessment team were alerted to threatening social media posts made by Mr. Bryan Silva. The university has no reason to believe that Mr. Silva’s posts are associated with yesterday’s tragedy.”

They further went on to say, “At this time, CPD does not believe Mr. Silva’s threats were related to the tragic events that occurred last night at the University of Virginia. However, we understand the fear this caused in our community and acted swiftly to resolve this investigation.”

  1. This guys just another wanna be that sees thibgs on tv/social media and copies it. His rap is CRAP. The only reason hes (cut) is he qeighrs bout 120/130. Would give his whole if for one sec.
