Know Why Babylon Bee Twitter Account is Suspended

Satire website Babylon Bee Twitter account has been suspended following an Anti-Transgender post against Dr Rachel Levine. The right-wing parody site referred to Rachel as “The Man of the Year” in one of its posts.

About the Tweet

Seth Dillon’s Babylon Bee is perhaps the only good satire website in present times. However, Twitter has suspended Bee’s account for 12 hours for “hateful conduct”. Phew, it mocked the transgender official Rachel Levine as “Man of the Year”.

The Bee’s article came as a reaction to USA Today’s naming Levine “Woman of the Year”. Seth Dillon, CEO & Founder of Babylon Bee tweeted about Twitter’s notice to the website stating “Hi The Babylon Bee, your account, @TheBabylonBee has been locked for violating the Twitter rules.”

The notice further accused the website of promoting violence, threatening and harassing people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity and so on.

Seth’s Reaction

Seth Dillon is clear about one thing. He says that he wouldn’t delete the tweet whatsoever. In a series of follow-up tweets, Bee’s CEO explained that while offending tweets remain live, the website is unable to post anything new.

Dillon further tweeted from his personal account that “Truth is not hate speech. If the cost of telling the truth is the loss of our Twitter account, then so be it.” The banned article notes that Levine is an admiral in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. What a boss! FYI, the article remains active on other platforms like Facebook.

Further, it also stated that he serves proudly as the first man in that position to dress like a western cultural stereotype of a woman. Dillon has also tweeted back that “If Lia Thomas were a woman, then I don’t think anyone would be talking about his performance-enhancing testicles.” Check out this tweet:

Seth also stated that Twitter could have removed this tweet. However, they just want them to bend their knees and accept that the website is guilty of inciting violence and hateful conduct. Did Babylon Bee cross its boundaries this time? What say?

About Rachel Levine

Rachel Leland Levine became the first openly transgender four-star officer in the nation’s eight uniformed services. They are a professor of paediatrics and psychiatry. Rachel was born as a biological man but transitioned in the year 2011. They have served as the board member of Equality Pennsylvania, and LGBT rights organization.

Bottom Line

Babylon Bee had around 20 million page views per month in 2021. It has more than 20,000 paid subscribers. Now, Bee’s Twitter account which has more than 856,000 followers is temporarily suspended.

This year Bee claimed that it has 25 million readers per month. Well, Dillon has turned Bee into one of the most popular sites after Fox News. I don’t think that Seth cares much about the Twitter account. They already have a wider fanbase.

There has been no comment from Rachel yet regarding this incident. We don’t know if they even took it seriously. There are those who are supporting Bee and there are those who have called out the Tweet. We don’t think Twitter is a place for deeper conversations. It does appear that Bee’s satire got misplaced. What do you think about this incident? Shoot your thoughts.

  1. Every single of “Rachel” Levines 30 trillion body cells has a XY chromosom.
So we have 30.000.000.000.000 proof that Levine is a man and 0 proof that Levine is a woman.
That”s 100% proof that Babylon Bee is right.
And an even bigger proof is the creepy photo of Levine above,
And as the famous poet Tyler Durden said :”Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.”
Nor does a claim make me Bill Gates or a cat or woman.
