Chris Smith’s girlfriend and baby mama Petara Cordero had a tragic fate. She lost her life in a car accident in the year 2019. At that time, Smith was driving a Lamborghini with his girlfriend Petara Cordero, in the passenger seat.
The car crashed into the median due to a tire malfunction. Petara was able to get out of the car from the passenger side, however, she was hit by an erratic driver who crashed into the passenger side of the stalled car.
Soon after, Cordero was rushed to Fairview Hospital where she was pronounced dead. At that point in time, the driver responsible for the death of Smith’s girlfriend admitted that he had a few drinks before the incident.
At that time, the Cleveland Browns issued a statement that read, “Words cannot describe the sorrow we feel for Chris following the loss of his girlfriend, Petara. Our entire organization mourns with Chris, his family, and the Cordero family. We will do everything possible to offer them our support, comfort and any resources in this most difficult time.”
What made the whole thing more tragic back then, was that the pair just welcomed their daughter a month before the incident. And now, their baby girl has lost both of her parents.

In August 2019, Smith announced the arrival of his little bundle of joy on the social media platform Instagram. He posted a series of pictures of his girlfriend Petara Cordero and the pair’s daughter on his Instagram feed.
“I’m so thankful to have another beautiful gift in this world my daughter Haven Harris Smith. You are such a blessing to me and your mother!! Love you Petara and Baby Haven❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote in the caption of the post.
In the first snap, Cordero can be seen holding her baby girl Haven while sitting in a wheelchair. The next picture showed the pair’s daughter all wrapped up in a white blanket with a white bow-tie headband.
On the other hand, Petara also shared an Instagram post of her own. “This little girl has filled my heart with so much joy and love !!I’m so thankful that God chose me to be her mommy!! So excited for this life journey with you!!! Haven Harris Smith. 🥰💕🙏🏽,” she wrote alongside a carousel of pictures of her baby girl Haven on Instagram.
Just a couple of days before her tragic death, the new mama took to her Instagram page and shared a photo of Chris placing a kiss on her forehead. She simply captioned the snap, “This a forever thing, I love you through everything.”
On the occasion of her 26th birthday, Cordero used her Instagram page to tell her followers how she prayed for true happiness and unconditional love. She thanked god for giving her the life she prayed for.
She wrote, “Always prayed to God for true happiness and unconditional love and here I am on my 26th birthday with a man that loves me a great deal, family and friends that mean the world to me all while waiting on my beautiful daughter Haven to arrive. Thank you God, you’re showing out.”
