She stated, “We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience. I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”

‘Specific Part Of My Life Is Done’
Issa Rae also stated, “Obviously, the show could grow and the characters can get older, but it just feels like a specific part of my life that I feel like is done. The entire reasoning behind Insecure is to show that this journey to these characters becoming secure in themselves and becoming comfortable being uncomfortable.”
She continued saying, “So, in that way, I’m ready to move on to the next story, but I don’t know what part of myself I’m giving for the next project. Maybe that’ll come years from now. Who knows, but I definitely don’t have it now.”
“It isn’t a show you can just churn out mass things,” Insecure showrunner Prentice Penny explained THR. “It’s like a shoe cobbler that makes eight shoes. It’s like these are the only shoes I make, and this is all I can make this year. That’s just our DNA. We never wanted to overstay our welcome.”
