Labor Day weekend is here as preparations have begun to celebrate the major holiday. If you’ve been shopping bargain stuff in Labor Day sales, then expecting your packages on September 5 is normal but does FedEx deliver on Labor Day? Find out here.

Not only FedEx, but other shipping companies like UPS, DHL, and the US Postal Services will also operate on a different schedule on Labor Day. Even Amazon Prime won’t be working like regular days.

We’ve checked out the schedules to let you know if that package you have been waiting for will make it to you on Monday.

Will FedEx deliver packages on Labor Day?

No, FedEx won’t deliver packages as they do regularly on Labor Day which falls on Monday, September 5, 2022. The residential deliveries are closed on the holiday while only FedEx Custom Critical services will remain open.

Most of the services are also closed a day before, on Sunday. Fortunately, the home delivery service will stay functional. FedEx’s Same-Day City Services will be running on a modified schedule on Labor Day.

Notably, FedEx Ground and Express services will remain shut but the FedEx Office will stay operational. You can check out the full list of FedEx holidays here.

Are other Shipping Services delivering on Labor Day?

Other shipping services like UPS, DHL, etc, haven’t complicated things like FedEx. They’ll remain closed for the most on September 5. UPS and Both are both closed for pickup and delivery services on Labor Day.

United States Postal Services (USPS) will also not make any mail pickups or deliveries on Labor Day. These services will remain shut on Monday and regular services will resume the following day, Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Is Amazon Prime delivering on Labor Day?

There’s a general notion that Amazon never closes. However, that isn’t true as Amazon Prime won’t be delivering parcels or picking up return packages on Labor Day. Their regular delivery service closes for seven holidays throughout the year and September 5 is one of them.

Alongside the shipping operations, Amazon Prime’s warehouse operations will also remain closed. You may need to wait for an additional day if your package was scheduled to deliver this Monday.

What about Schools, Banks, and Grocery Stores on Labor Day?

Traditionally, schools and banks are closed on Labor Day. Stock Markets are also closed in the US. However, many grocery stores remain open on the federal holiday. Chains like CVS and Walgreens will also remain open.

For local stores, you may need to visit or call them to get their schedule. Some of them may stay shut on Monday, September 5.

Labor Day is celebrated every year on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement. The federal holiday is none less than a festivity as people get their much-needed leisure time every year.

This year’s edition becomes extra special as MoviePass is returning on Labor Day. If you have signed up for the waitlist, the results are coming out on Monday. Don’t forget to check if you made the cut.
