Ahead of the glorious celebration of WWE Monday Night RAW’s 30th Anniversary, WWE and 2K have surprised the wrestling fans with the official unveiling of this year’s annual wrestling simulator which will feature a long star-studded roster.
This time, 2K is adding the much-awaited WarGames (WWE’s version) to the playable modes and Bad Bunny is also going to be available as a wrestler. However, there’s a certain thing you need to do in order to play like him.
WWE 2K23 Release Date: When is it coming?
On January 23, 2023, WWE and 2K officially announced the release date of WWE 2K23. The upcoming wrestling simulator will launch on Friday, March 17, 2023. Early access to the launch takes place three days before on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
To get early access to WWE 2K23, you need to pre-order the game right now. The pre-orders are live and we have shared the procedure to order the game right away in the later sections. You will also unlock cool perks by buying your copy early.
WWE 2K23 Editions: Who’s the Cover Star?
John Cena is on the cover of all three editions of WWE 2K23. This year’s title will be celebrating the WWE icon’s 20th anniversary as a wrestling superstar. There is a unique documentary-styled 2K showcase mode that highlights Cena’s glorious journey in the WWE.

The three editions of WWE 2K23 are as followed:
- Standard Edition– costs $69.99 on current-gen consoles & $59.99 on last-gen consoles
- Cross-Gen Edition– costs $69.99
- Icon Edition– costs $119.99
The ultimate version features original cover art by artist Rob Schamberger. Meanwhile, all three editions have unique covers featuring none other than John Cena as Twitterati couldn’t stop joking that the upcoming title’s cover is going to be blank!
WWE 2K23 Gameplay: What’s New This Time?
WWE 2K23 is going to be the standard annual wrestling simulator but with some significant new additions. The biggest new add-on is the WarGames match type that features two rings, and two cages, and can be played in 3v3 or 4v4 single-player or online.
2K has also teased a “unique new take” on the documentary style 2k Showcase mode which features the highlights of 16-time world champion and the cover star John Cena’s legendary career.
MyGM mode is returning this time with key expansions and MyFaction is getting online multiplayer in WWE 2K23. The story-focused MyRise, Universe, and Creation modes are also back while Creation Suite, custom arenas are now playable online.

The developer has also revealed the roster of WWE 2K23 partially and there are major names on the list including Brock Lesnar, Bad Bunny, Randy Orton, John Cena (obviously), and various others.

The pre-orders for WWE 2K23 are live and wrestling fans can order their copy of the upcoming title right away. If you want to pre-order WWE 2K23 and unlock the cool bonuses, follow these steps:
