A Detailed Comparison Between Xbox Series X vs PS5

Even after announcing their next-generation systems, Microsoft and Sony are still locked in fierce competition. You need to determine which system will best fit your requirements before you decide which console you are buying. When it comes to next-generation gaming consoles, players now have to choose between the Xbox One S and Sony’s PlayStation 5 because both are almost similar in terms of specs.

Inevitably, at some point in the next console generation, the debate will arise between the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox One Series X. This comparison guide might assist you if you’re unsure about which next-generation gaming console to get.

In this article, we’ll compare the two masterpieces in gaming consoles i.e. Xbox Series X vs PS5.

Xbox Series X vs PS5 – Which One is Better?

Let’s start with the obvious: both of these gaming consoles are still very hard to buy. The availability of Xbox Series X consoles has increased recently, however, PS5 consoles are still hard to come by.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X have been on the market for nearly a year and a half, yet the pandemic, record demand, scalpers, and a worldwide chip shortage are all still affecting the supply of these consoles today. Because of this, many individuals who desire a console can’t get their hands on one, or they’ve had to shell out a lot of money to get their hands on the most recent models.

Other than stock differences, the most important thing to know about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X is that neither console is clearly superior. The reason for this is that both systems are exceptionally well-designed and come preloaded with impressive libraries of games. In the end, it’s difficult to declare a clear victor between the two consoles since each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages to weigh.

The good news is that neither console will let you down. However, if you can only pick one of the two new machines, you need to be aware of a few key differences. Find out how these two next-generation consoles compare in this guide. PS5 versus Xbox X: Everything You Need to Know is Here.

Price

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X cost $500.  At first look, this category seems to be a tie since the two systems are so similar. In addition to the conventional PS5 and Xbox Series X models, a number of other variants are also available. The PS5 Digital Edition retails for $400, while the Xbox Series S retails for $300.

The PS5 Digital Edition and the PS5 are similar except for the PS5 having a 4K Blu-ray disc player. As the name indicates, the PS5 Digital Edition, it lacks a CD drive. The Xbox Series S, on the other hand, contains hardware that differs dramatically from the Xbox Series X: a less powerful GPU, a smaller SSD, less RAM, etc.

There are lower-cost versions of both consoles, though, and the PS5 Digital Edition, as well as the Xbox Series S, may be used for both casual and secondary purposes. If you’re looking for an absolute winner, the most crucial consideration is that both full-featured systems are equally expensive.

Graphics and Performance

Both the devices i.e. the PS5 and Xbox Series X are almost similar. There’s one that looks like a space oyster from Mass Effect, and there’s one that looks like a box. However, they’re almost identical on the inside.

The prices are the same. There are some small changes between the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but they both contain the same 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPUs, AMD RDNA graphics chipsets, 16 GB of RAM, and roughly the same off-the-shelf storage capacity—825 GB for PS5, and 1 TB for the Xbox Series X. And they each have 8K, 4K, and 120 Hz outputs, too.

Games Library

When it comes to game libraries, Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox One X take quite different methods. All of your favourite games are playable on Xbox Series X since it’s assumed that you’ll be picking them up where you left off on Xbox One. A slew of exclusive games was released at the PS5’s debut, although most of these games are also available on the PS4 (albeit not all).

At this point, it’s impossible to dispute that the PS5’s game library is more interesting. First-party games for the PS5 include Spider-Man: Miles Morale, Demon’s Soul, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and the pleasantly surprising Astro’s Playroom.

While Xbox series X didn’t include many exclusives at launch.  As an alternative, the company issued a list of 30 games that are “optimised for Xbox Series X/S,” including well-known titles like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 4, and The Last of Us. These games aren’t all new, yet they’re all playable on Xbox One, PC, or both thanks to Xbox Series X’s amazing improvements

Despite the fact that Xbox Series X titles can be played on PCs, you can choose PS5’s game library above that of the Xbox Series X. As time goes on, Microsoft’s library of games is expected to improve.

Controller

The Xbox Series X’s controller is a kind of safe upgrade over the Xbox One.  Just like its predecessor, the Xbox One controller, save for textured grips and shoulder buttons, and enhanced D-pad, and a new “share” button in the middle.

One of the finest controllers ever manufactured is getting a clever upgrade. Still, the fact that it relies on AA batteries rather than a rechargeable unit makes it seem outdated and adds a lot of expense to the end-user, whether they purchase AAs or rechargeable packs.

Contrastingly, the PS5 DualSense, with its two-tone colour scheme and much larger grips, is a significant upgrade from the DualShock 4. Among the new features are incredibly sensitive haptics and a microphone embedded. To put it simply, you can feel things moving around in a box, or feel genuine resistance when you touch a trigger, thanks to the excellent haptic feedback. There’s a lot of dead space on the DualSense, and its haptic feedback might pull you out of the game as much as it can pull you in.

Verdict

We love both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but for the time being, we’ve chosen the PlayStation 5, thanks to its superior controller, engaging user interface, and impressive library of exclusive games. That’s just us, however. While the  Xbox Series X are both amazing systems, there isn’t much of a difference between the two.

I hope you liked the detailed comparison between Xbox Series X vs PS5. The best among the two is hard to decide. Whichever you decide to buy, do let us know in the comment section below the reason behind it.
