Robert Lane Saget was born in the year 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a Jewish family. He completed his schooling at Abington Senior High School in 1975. He later studied film at Temple University.
He was awarded the Student Academy Awards for his project “Through Adam’s Eyes”, a film is about a boy who received reconstructive facial surgery. He completed his Bachelor’s in Arts in 1978.
Bob Saget’s Successful Career
He began his career as a stand-up comedian and toured all across the country however he first achieved success when he appeared on TV. In 1981, he did his first talk show appearance on “The Merv Griffin Show”.
He was part of the “The Morning Program” on CBS in 1987 for a short period of time however he gained prominence for his role as Danny Tanner on the show “Full House”. The Full house series became very popular and was ranked in the Nielsen Top 30 after its third season.
The show went on for 8 years from 1987 to 1995 that was comprised of eight seasons and 192 episodes. Bob appeared in all 192 episodes. He started as host for “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (AFV) show in 1989 and continued for 8 years. He used to simultaneously work for both Full House and AFV shows during the early 1990s.
He was inspired by the life story of his late sister and directed the ABC television movie “For Hope” in the year 1996. Saget made his debut feature film “Dirty Work” in 1998, however, it did not do well at the box office.
Saget performed in the short-lived sitcom on The WB, “Raising Dad” from 2001 to 2002 alongside Kat Dennings, Brie Larson, and Jerry Adler. In CBS’s sitcom “How I Met Your Mother”, he provided the narrator’s voice in 208 episodes.
He acted in many shows for almost two decades before he was found unresponsive in his room by the hotel staff on 9th Jan 2022.

Saget married Sherri Kramer in 1982 and divorced in 1997. The couple had three daughters together. He again married Kelly Rizzo in 2018.
Bob was one of the board members of the Scleroderma Research Foundation. He was involved in raising awareness and funds for the disease, which his sister suffered from.
Investment in Real Estate
Bob and his ex-wife Sherri purchased a house in LA’s Pacific Palisades neighborhood for $2.5 million in 1990. He bought one more house for $2.9 million in Los Angeles in June 2003.
