YouTube Vanced is used by many users worldwide as an alternative to YouTube Premium. The app provides premium benefits, including ads-free videos and background play, for free to all of its users.
The platform has become more and more popular in the recent past, owing to the increasing number of ads before YouTube videos. However, in the last few days, many users have reported that YouTube Vanced is not working and is displaying an error message. Read on to find out what the issue is and how you can get rid of it.
YouTube Vanced Down: Error Message Says ‘Content Not Available’
Multiple users from across the world have pointed out that they are not able to watch videos on YouTube Vanced anymore. On trying to load the videos, the third-party streaming app displays the message: “The following content is not available on this app. Watch on the latest version of YouTube.”
However, the platform is still working fine for some users. So the problem could be region or account-specific. The issue has come at a time when Google has sent ‘a cease and desist letter’ to the developers of YouTube Vanced for legal reasons.
The team behind the platform then confirmed that the app would only run as long as the current version is supported, and there would be no further updates. “Vanced has been discontinued. Currently installed versions will work just fine until they become outdated in 2 years or so,” the company tweeted in March last year.
How to Fix the YouTube Vanced Not Working Issue?
If you are also not able to load the app, the following solutions could help:
- Some users have stated that the issue is with MicroG, the tool that lets you use your Google Account on Vanced. So go to Settings on your phone and select the option ‘Accounts’.
- Look out for the account logged in on MicroG and select remove.
- Log into Vance once again with the same account.
- If the problem still persists, you can create a new Google account and use it on Vanced.
- Enabling ‘vp9’ or ‘protobuf spoof’ is all said to resolve the issue.
Users Frustrated with the Issue
People are now taking to social media to express their frustration over the misfunctioning of YouTube Vanced. A few believe that due to the legal notices from Google, Vanced has been blocked permanently.
“Youtube just killed vanced for good. We may have lost the battle, but the spirit of Vanced lives on in our hearts. Farewell, sweet prince. You will be missed,” wrote a user. Another commented, “The app was working absolutely fine until a few hours ago. Now when I watch a video it will pause and start buffering after about a minute without restarting.”
“I’ve been using Vanced with zero issues for years now. Suddenly beginning a few days ago, videos are taking forever to buffer. I have to wait forever for them to load and they sometimes need to pause midway through to buffer a long time again,” tweeted a user.
