It appears like Hollywood celebrities are opting for inspiration-theme costumes this Halloween. After Lori Harvey shared her Beyonce-inspired Halloween look, Hailey Bieber took it to another level by transforming into a “flower princess”, by donning a Halloween costume inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic haute couture from 1999.
Recreating Laetitia Casta’s Iconic Look…
Hailey Bieber recently took to Instagram and shared her Halloween look. The 26-year-old American model was wearing a Halloween costume that has her covered in flowers, inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic haute couture from 1999. Taking a rather high-fashion approach, Justin’s wife donned a replica outfit of the runway veteran Laetitia Casta.
Hailey’s Halloweekend is all about flowers! Her costume features “garlands of pink roses fashioned into a crop top, skirt and headdress.” Below, she carried a floor-length baby pink train with ruffles. Her pink sandals had rose embellishments around the ankles that completed the ensemble. She captioned her Instagram post: “Happy Halloweekend 👻 inspo: YSL haute couture 1999 💐.
Celebrities Fans immediately took to the comment section to compliment the star for her gorgeous look. Justine Skye wrote, “What a princess!”. Mary Phillips wrote, “Stunning!” Carter Gregory wrote, “my garden fairy love.” Felisha King Harvey wrote, “Flower goddess 🌸”
Later in the evening, Hailey was also spotted alongside her husband, Justin Bieber during a West Hollywood spooky shindig. Justin wore a goth costume, with a studded choker and leather jacket. Even though the couple looked totally opposite, they were too cute alongside each other.
Well, this is Hailey’s second Halloween costume. Last weekend, paps captured her and Kendall Jenner at Doja Cat’s masquerade-themed birthday party, wherein the two stars were seen twinning in matching lingerie looks. Before that, she wore a black velvet witch’s hat.
The Inspiration Behind Hailey Dress…
Hailey Bieber was looking a total “floral princess” in the iconic Saint Laurent Rose Wedding Dress. The ensemble was first worn by French supermodel Laetitia Casta, who donned this closing look for YSL’s 1999 haute couture show. The dress became an instant classic and is remembered as a fine creation in fashion history.
In a previous video interview with Vogue France, Laetitia Casta revealed how the iconic dress was made telling the magazine, “So the story of this dress is crazy because I walked into his [Yves Saint Laurent’s] office and he looks at me and he says what do you want to wear? I had no idea I was 16 and I said I wanted to wear flowers, this is funny by the way. He says, ‘very well, flowers, which flowers?’
She added, “I said roses and he said ‘very well.’ He talked to his team and said ‘bring me silk roses, bring me roses in these different fabrics.’ First, he drew it in front of me, then he asked me to stand, and he began building this dress on me with pins and roses, he built this dress like a sculpture”.
