The full name of Casey is Casey Marie Anthony. She was born on March 19, 1986, to George and Cindy Anthony. Back in the day, she and her parents lived in Orlando, Florida. In the year 2008, Casey’s 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony went missing.

As per authorities, Casey left her family home on June 16, 2008, with her daughter Caylee and the two of them didn’t return for a total of 31 days. After finding that Casey’s car had been seized, her dad George went to get the car, where he discovered a strong smell coming from the trunk.

On July 15, 2008, Casey’s mom Cinda called 911 and stated that she had not seen Caylee in a total of 30 days. At that time, she also claimed that Casey’s car smelled like a dead body had been inside it.

Around that time, Anthony went on to say that she hadn’t seen her daughter Caylee in one month and that a babysitter whose name was Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez may have kidnapped her. During the trial of the murder, Casey’s attorney, Jose Baez, admitted that Casey had fabricated the story about the nanny.

Why was Casey Anthony arrested by the cops?

After lying to the police authorities about her place of deployment, Casey was arrested by the cops on the counts of child neglect, making false official statements, and obstructing an investigation on July 16, 2008, just a day after her mom reported that Caylee was missing.

Later on, Casey was declared a “person of interest” in Caylee’s disappearance on July 22, 2008, and was charged with first-degree murder in October. During the same year, on December 11, 2008, Caylee’s skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family’s house.

What was Casey Anthony’s sentence period?

A few years later, on May 24, 2011, Casey’s trial kicked off on in Orlando, Florida. At that time, in Jose’s opening statement, he claimed that Caylee drowned in the swimming pool of the family. He alleged that Casey’s dad George tried to cover up the accidental death.

Baez also asserted that George had molested Casey as a child, causing her to develop a habit of lying. The closing arguments of the case were provided two months later on July 3, 2011. The jury reached a verdict two days later. At that point, Casey pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child.

However, Casey Anthony was found guilty of a total of four misdemeanor counts of giving false information to a law enforcement officer.

When did Casey Anthony come out of jail?

On July 7, 2011, the jury gave Casey Anthony a four-year sentence. In addition to this, she was also fined $4,000 for the four counts of lying to the police authorities. Soon after, she was released from prison on July 17.

In March 2017, Casey gave her first ever interview since the trial to the Associated Press. In a couple of articles that were published around that time, she confessed that she lied to the cops and even put some light on the public’s perception of her.

Anthony told the media outlet, “Based off what was in the media, I understand the reasons people feel about me. I understand why people have the opinions that they do.” In December 2020, she filed papers to begin her own private investigation business in South Florida.

Then, her family stated that she formed the business to investigate her daughter Caylee’s death. Later on, a source told People magazine that wasn’t true. The source went on to say, “That’s a closed chapter in her life. She’s not starting a company to get answers about Caylee.”
