Why Is Blueface-Nick Young Boxing Match Removed From The Exhibition Card?

Former NBA star Nick Young was dead confident that he would knock out the 25-year-old rapper Blueface in just 15 ticks. Now, the former Lakers star won’t be able to live up to this confidence as his fight with Blueface has been called off and promoters are searching for a replacement. Read on to know the reason for this.

Blueface Got Some License Issues…

The much-awaited celebrity boxing match between Blueface and Nick Young was due on Saturday (Sept. 10) but now, the 25-year-old rapper won’t be making it to the ring as he has not yet been approved for his boxing license.

Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Jamall Porter, receievd a letter from the California State Athletic Commission on Tuesday (Sept. 6) wherein it was declared that his application for a pro boxing license in the state will not be approved until he makes a personal appearance before the Committee in October.

We aren’t sure if Blueface’s recent violent encounter with his girlfriend, Chrisean Rock is the reason for holding his license or not. If you aren’t aware, in August, Blueface and Chrisean got into a violent altercation on the streets of Hollywood. Both were captured punching each other and then wrestling on the ground until police arrived.

The match between Blueface and SwaggyP was scheduled to take place on Social Goves 2 card at Banc of California Stadium, Los Angeles. Now, with only 3 days left for the fight, promoters for the match are wandering to find a replacement.

Nick Has His List Of Opponents…

Nick Young, who has been very vocal since the announcement of this fight, is keeping up his boasting game on. Previously, he stated in an interview that he would knock out Blueface in just 15 ticks. He stated: “He’s a rapper. They’ve got to be in the studio all night. You’ve got to drink, you’ve got to smoke. We don’t do that type of stuff.”

Young even mocked Blueface for the violent altercation he had with his girlfriend. Now, that he won’t be able to take over Blueface in the ring, he posted on Instagram: “He too busy getting his ass whoop (sic) outside the ring so who wanna take his place?” Ouch, that’s mean.

Also, Young wishes to fight former NBA guard Nate Robinson. If you remember, Nate underwent an embarrassing loss to Jake Paul during a match in 2020. He spoke in an interview that he has been doing this for a while, and not going to throw wild punches. Instead, he’s going to shock a couple of people.

Apart from Nate, Nick is also willing to fight former Lakers coach Luke Walton or ex-teammate D’Angelo Russell. If you aren’t aware, Nick and Russell do have a pending tussle. He previously filmed Young discussing cheating on ex-fiancee, Iggy Azalea.

Well, we ain’t sure if any of them will make it to the ring on such short notice. But fans shouldn’t be disappointed as we’re sure the promoters are going to find someone for Young because he’s willing to fight anyone. Keep reading for more updates.
