Viveca is an art collector and an auctioneer. She is someone who works in the field of art. She works as an auctioneer. After bagging a bachelor’s degree in art history from Pomona College, she learned more about auctioneering at Butterfield & Butterfield, a now-defunct auction house, before becoming a regular auctioneer at Los Angeles Modern Auctions.

Apart from this, Paulin is also an art collector. In a 2014 interview with Art News, she said, “Being around the auction houses made the transition to collecting an easy one, particularly with prints.”

Paulin and Will crossed paths for the first time in an acting class. Back in the day, the two of them attended the same acting class in Los Angeles. During an earlier interview with Elle, he revealed that the pair dated briefly in their early days before becoming friends.

At one point, the Land of the Lost star left California after he was cast on Saturday Night Live in New York City. However, the two continued to remain friends even though Ferrell was in another relationship at the time.

Will recalled, “Viv and I would talk as friends for two hours, and it would feel like five minutes, and then my girlfriend would call and after 15 minutes I’d be like, ‘God, it’s really late here on the East Coast. I should get some sleep.’ For me, Viv was the one that got away.”

Later on, when Ferrell came back to Los Angeles for a visit, Viveca admitted that she felt for him the same way. He further added, “I was stunned. I didn’t play it cool at all. I went, ‘I just told my uncle that I’m going to marry you one day!'” He continued, “We started over — after a five-year friendship, we literally started courting each other.”

Will Ferrell and his ladylove Viveca Paulin tied the knot in the year 2000 after Ferrell’s slightly awkward proposal. In an earlier interview with People magazine, Will talked about the pair’s proposal.

At that time, The Other Guys star said, “It started serious but ended up comedic. I took her to this beach where we had had one of our first dates. She wanted none of it. She was, like, ‘The beach is creepy at night.’ I was, like, ‘Shut up, this is supposed to be really romantic.'”

Sadly, Viveca’s comment threw off Will’s concentration. He further added, “I was trying to think of what I was going to say and it just turned into, ‘So I, uh, really like you and, uh, anyway …’ Then I went down to a knee — at least I think I did — and proposed. So it was kind of funny, but not on purpose.”

Will Ferrell and his wife Viveca Paulin are proud parents of three kids, all boys. The couple welcomed their first child together, son Magnus in the year 2004. They expanded their brood with their son Mattias in 2007.

Viveca gave birth to her and Will’s third child, son Axel in 2010. The name of the pair’s first son, Magnus led to a controversy, but it was supposed to be a tribute to Viveca’s Swedish roots.

In the year 2018, the pair gave a full scholarship by the Viveca Paulin and Will Ferrell Scholarship Fund, which supports female soccer players at USC.
